Sounds like a busy weekend!
Coke Zero isn't too bad, I know they have a constant offer the big bottles in most supermarkets that makes them £1 each (weaning myself off a slight cherry zero problem!) You could always switch him to Aldi's diet coke for at home? Up to him what he buys when he's out at work with his dinner but if you're the one doing the food shop just refuse to buy anything that isn't that?
You must have been weighed down coming out of Poundland with £17 worth of bits! I do find Home Bargains and B&M come in cheaper for crafty bits. Admittedly just by a few pence but those places might be worth a butchers
We had a fairly quiet one, OH was at football on Saturday so my sister and I took Oscar to a local NT park (have passes so free entry and my Sister drove) then we came home and I made us dinner from what was in the cupboards/freezer and we watched a bit of trash tv. Played with sparklers in the garden and the people across the road from us do event-level fireworks (they have to either know a guy or spend thousands, it goes on for about 30 minutes and is the best display I've seen!) so OH and I sat on our bed and watched them after Oscar went to bed. Just had a home day yesterday, did a roast dinner (have left over chicken for a few days) watched Channel Zero while Oscar napped and went on a few walks. Rain lasted all of 2 hours here! Hope everyone else had a nice weekend.0 -
Sounds like you both had nice weekends.
I ended up staying in most of Saturday as Poppy wasn't feeling well. She did ballet but ended up having a two hour nap and had a temp. We still went over friends sat evening as she was feeling a bit better and they did a few fireworks etc.
Sunday was a bit expensive as bought Heidi new shoes as her feet have grown again (I think she is def going to be taller than Poppy!), also bought long socks for Poppy for school , some birthday cards , a Christmas present and went to costa for a coffee.0 -
£24.50 off the debt from teaching this morning. Came home and paid it straight off the card.
Open night at school tonight, should be fun, found out on Friday Grace's very nice teacher is leaving at Christmas and they're getting a supply teacher in (although hopefully a long term one, post not filled yet).Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

The daily payments really make a big difference! Think you have an extra 3 in your sig though, through for a minute you were including your mortgage until I read the total :rotfl:0

It's great to see all the little bits chipping away at the total Dinah.
Paperwork has all been signed for the house so just waiting for everyone to agree a date. Starting to get myself stressed about how we're going to be able to afford to actually live there but I know I'm just being irrational as the numbers all balanced out when we first started looking. Doing some actual paid overtime at work for the next 2 weeks so hoping to stash that away towards the emergency fund. Hoping everyone's doing ok, can't believe how cold it is all of a sudden!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Dad has some massive orders this week so finishing graces room is on hold and number is around there on an evening to help. Usually this means a payment at the end of a mad week so fingers crossed.
I *think* I've been accepted to leapforce to do online Web research, right up my street. Up your income forumites seem to make £200- £900 a month with it so fingers crossed.
Meeting today after playgroup (did I mention I'm now fundraising coordinator for a local parenting charity?). Only took it on a few weeks ago, this is my first meeting, depressingly I know the bank balance is in single figures so I have a lot of work ahead of me.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Everything always falls into place, Ruby
Things will be absolutely fine, but I find it's always nice to have something to worry over!
It is bitterly cold now, need to buy Oscar some more tights! We only have two pairs and I like to put them under his bottoms. He's layered for the gods every day now. Need him a pair of shoes in the next size up and some thicker PJs too. Been putting it off waiting for a good discount code but time is running out
It's good you've found time to do charity work with how busy you are, but don't spread yourself too thinly too quick!0 -

Exciting Ruby about the house, I'm sure all will be fine.
Dinah - good news about the leapforce thing, hope that will help with money. Agree don't spread yourself too thin with helping other people, need to help yourself too!
CMD - hope Evie feels better soon. Heidi was up half the night with what I think was stomach pains so hoping she isn't coming down with anything.0
