Just can't wait toilet card.

Thought this link might be helpful. It costs £5 😊

B&BF’s toilet card clearly states that the holder has a medical condition and needs to use a toilet quickly. Although it does not guarantee you access to a toilet, most places you visit will be willing to help you.!The card is a small, credit sized card, designed to fit easily into your purse, wallet or pocket. You can show the card when you’re out shopping and socialising and it may help you gain access to a toilet.

Whilst I can see that this is a good idea, it's rather marred by the fact that just anybody can buy one.

I agree with above whats the point if anyone can buy one?

As a parent of a child who can't wait I often ask in shop if my son can use their toilet (its easier to ask for a child), I have often been given the reason "sorry we are not insured". I have wondered if this is a polite way of saying no or if in fact it is the truth, if my son were to have an accident whilst on route/whilst using their toilet (however unlikely) I'm not sure if their public liability insurance would pay out as he was not in an area designed for the public.

If that is the case then no card is going to help in that situation :(

I don't have medical reasons for example needing one of those disabled keys but I always wondered that I have mental health and "learning difficulty" disability (autism) that make going to toilet in public a nightmare for various reasons like I hold it in unless I realy need to and by then I am in pain or ready to burst then might have to wait 15 minutes to get into toilet.

I am "disabled" but thinking would that qualify me and if so is it moral to get one of those keys?

Actually, it does help.. I have bowel probs and I have used it many times.. I would have thought that die to the shame surrounding bladder and bowel probs, most people would not apply for one unless they really needed to.
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE :)

If you're capable of going when you're ready to burst then you're capable of going at an earlier stage. Please do not abuse the scheme to the detriment of those with a genuine need.

    Do you understand autism?

The autism part means I only go when I need to go, but I also have issues due to diet which mean I can feel fine all day then feel gas and have to rush to toilet, I was given tablets for it as doctor things its minor IBS.

And I mistinterpret the signs, I can feel like going (in the words they call for a tinkle) a lot but when I go to toilet nothing happens so I wait until I know for a fact I need to to.

And FYI I am not talking about going to a busy disablity toilet but lets say I am in a shopping centre and theres a long queue for the regular toilets and none for disability it would help me to go to the disability one.

And back to the autism side I can get distressed waiting to point my heart is beating so fast.

If I go to bar I am the opposite I keep going every few minutes and nothing happens so I can't tell when I need to go unless I really am ready to burst.

FYI I have also lost control of my body functions due to this but its rare only because I rarely leave the house and when I do its short distance so I don't go to large shopping centres much.

    Are psychological conditions not valid?

As you yourself say "I don't have medical reasons", so no.

I don't have PHYSICAL medical conditions.

But I do have a condition that affects how the brain interprets the signals of toilet to the point I touch cloth a lot with zero notice at which point I get physical pain.

So I can feel like going all the time on one extreme and nothing happens and not feel like going at all other times to suddenly need to rush to toilet.

People are shocked how for example I can go 12 or more hours without going to toilet.

If you can go 12 hrs without going 10 more minutes queuing isn't going to make much difference is it.

I CAN go 12 hours other times I may go a few times in a hour,

And when I need to go its instant touch cloth not built up over a time period.

I have noticed it, I would be sitting down and feel this gas in my stomach and all of a sudden I feel like I am about to soil myself and get extreme pain in my backside to the point if I don't go instantly I feel actual muscle pain so have to crab walk often.

So the actual time before I need to go isn't the thing but when I need to go I am instantly at the point of holding it back to stop soiling myself.

So if I don't go for 11 hours and go to toilet just in case nothing comes out, wait 10 more minutes and all of a sudden I will be exploding, then going back in every few minutes.
