Just to let you know we no longer need to start a new thread every time it reaches a set number of posts. Feel free to carry on using this discussion thread.
Thanks!davemorton wrote: »
Yes, if it is to go on for ever, could Savvy open a new one with the first post as is, then the next 5 or 6 posts as his list. The amount of effort he puts in is amazing, and it deserves permanent recognition.davemorton wrote: »Oooo, a thought, what happens if changes need to be done to the first post, and the original poster is no longer about. Perhaps Redfox should do the first post so if ever it needs changing, she is always about, no chance of her getting PPR'ed/disappearing/not posting any more. (But to post in conjunction with Savvy)
I don't see mse giving any option for a new thread starter. This pettiness over who starts threads is part of what drove them to reach this and I for one am happy the thread will remain as it could have gone the other way.
I don't post much now, can't be bothered with all the bullying, squabbling and cliques, but would miss the thread if it were gone.
The elite thread has been given a lifeline by the forum team. Lets not bite the hand that feeds by saying
"thanks, but no thanks cos you've chosen to make permanent a thread by a poster we don't like".
It's only a game

Sorry, I dont believe anyone, least of all me have said anything of the sort, so if you cant come on and say nice things like the rest of us, perhaps it is best you dont post much. Sorry to come across harsh, but that post is as petty as anything I have read on here.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Anyway, I have said what I think, im out of it now. RL got to go on.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

I've put links to all savvy posts in the 1 post at the top so it easy for everyone to find- I'm more than happy to make other additions as and when they are needed:)
If it's decided to start a new thread with whoever starts it I'm happy with that as well:) the main thing is we have a threat:cool:0 -
Just out of interest....who has been with the thread the longest....is there still anyone posting from the days when it began?
we do see so many come and go and often people reminisce about posters who were here a few years ago....
I just wondered if anyone knows who has been here the longest or would like to admit that it may be them.....
does anyone know who started that very first thread...and what the elite was called back in the beginning??frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
Whatever happens.....perhaps we could/should delay any new thread or renaming of it for a few days until everyone has had chance to read about the new plans....
it's a little unfair to make any quick snap decisions now during the day whilst only a few are online and perhaps delaying the decision for a short period of time would also allow those who only "work " nights to be involved/have their say ...and also cover any of the elite that may currently be on holiday etc
Maybe if the final name decision could be on Monday after the weekend ...
and I know this is not going to be liked by all but I think if we are going to start afresh with a shiny new squeaky clean thread for ever then surely it should be savvy and he should be given a chance to put all of his page one posts on first before anyone else ...only a suggestion“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Have to agree with DM here, the amount of time and effort Savvy puts into this thread is unbelievable.
Without a doubt he is one of the top contributors and he does deserve (and has earned) permanent recognition.0 -

I also agree.
He puts so much work in to the thread.
He also has never been nasty to anyone and never takes sides in any arguments.:AN1LDA:D0
