It looks reasonably easy to set up a poll on a new thread...I think perhaps this could be done as a separate thread on the "its gone..." category that the elite is already in....

you can set up to 10 poll questions so I guess the main one is new thread yes or no

assuming a new thread who should start it.....

assuming a new thread what should it be called....

please feel free to come up with any suggestions you might want to include.

if the new thread option is chosen and it's not Savvy who starts it....then perhaps we must ask that the thread starter gives provision and consideration for his lists to be permanently located in posts 2 onwards for however many he requires.

how does that sound guys....and does anyone want to start chucking in a few suggestions to perhaps take forward to a poll thread.

I think the consensus is going to be that I start it (sorry to butt in:o:o:o:rotfl:). But, realistically, I can see that being almost everybody's view. I don't want to assume everyone's view though and neither would I intend to start fights or anything - as you know I cannot cross people even if I wanted to - I just do not have the ability and just do not know how to do so - but people never get into fights involving me and I do seem to be generally liked by everyone as far as I can see. I'm sure I'm misreading the situation and missing the point:rotfl:. But, as long as I can think what I do, then it's cool:cool:.

I'm not seeking it to be me and I've never wanted to take control of the thread or anything like that and have no such ambition - as you know, I am completely neutral and have no view one way or the other as to who should start a thread. I suspect that's why I didn't mind Nerf starting one. I just don't get into arguments about who starts threads, as I don't see any point to doing that. Although it would make sense to have my lists always on the 'front page' and purely from that practical POV, therefore I think I "know" - or can see - what peoples' view generally is going to be. I don't know if I should be posting and saying this:rotfl::o:o:rotfl:. But... I did so anyway!!:p:T:T:A:rotfl::wave:

Just out of interest....who has been with the thread the longest....is there still anyone posting from the days when it began?

we do see so many come and go and often people reminisce about posters who were here a few years ago....

I just wondered if anyone knows who has been here the longest or would like to admit that it may be them.....

does anyone know who started that very first thread...and what the elite was called back in the beginning??

I've been here a while, might even have been from the beginning but I can't be sure.

I agree that savvy should start the thread, not sure about the name though.

    Oh, I'm honoured:o:T.

However looking at the current page of this thread, I notice that the reason is that we don't need to start threads again?!? Unfortunately - these things always happen - I've got to go out for the next few hours and really can't stay (otherwise I will be hitting traffic again) - I'm expected back by 4pm, could be a little later, hopefully it will be a lot sooner - you should see how long it takes to move 8 posts:rotfl: - but I note that although we no longer "need" to start new threads at set posts (maybe I'm reading this too literally?) we can do so if we want to? Do we have to start a new thread immediately or can it wait a few hours whilst, presumably, I come back and a name for the new thread can be decided whilst I'm out?

If you desperately need me to start one right now, I'll do so although I would rather I got on with the rest of what I need to do - otherwise you can chat away for the next few hours amongst yourselves whilst I do my own thing (like what normally happens:rotfl:).

There's no guarantee that I will always be around (I could get run over by a bus!) or that I will keep doing the M list or doing it indefinitely:rotfl:. However, I don't see it ending anytime soon.

    It was a pleasure savvy:)
After this I hope you realise how important your lists are:cool::T

Maybe do this poll first, as if the majority vote to leave things as they are, then there will be no need to do the second two polls.:)

    I vote savvy:)

lets leave this thought in the air for perhaps the next day or so....

If any one has an objection to Savvy starting a new thread perhaps they would either voice their alternative here or maybe PM someone if they would rather a different course of action.

once we have perhaps made that decision then we can tackle the name of it

sorry I've bolded it but I want to give everyone the option of seeing the proposals....even the skimmers.

I'm not a huge lover of the thanks button ....but maybe I could suggest that you either thank the post or perhaps just make some comment about it just to acknowledge the fact that you have seen it and have considered the options.

Basically I think we need to get as many of the lurkers and elite involved so that its seen as a fair way to decide the way forward rather than a decision made by a few who happened to be online at the time.

for once lets put aside any clique differences to take the elite forward to a new permanent home.

Or another way of doing it is, does anyone want to put themselves forward as wanting to start the thread?

If no one wants to do it, then the job is Savvy's!:D

Let's see if anybody either objects or comes up with something better and then you can let me know and I'll get it sorted :)

I object. Why have the thread opened by someone that now will not post a new glitch, as his loyalties are else where. I suggest we have a new thread opened democratically by a vote to who opens it. Or you yourself open a new thread as you have done in the past.
Edited. I agree with savvy opening it. But please put all the info on the 2nd post as opposed to the 1st. As when I don't log in. It appears on every page.
