Oooo, a thought, what happens if changes need to be done to the first post, and the original poster is no longer about. Perhaps Redfox should do the first post so if ever it needs changing, she is always about, no chance of her getting PPR'ed/disappearing/not posting any more. (But to post in conjunction with Savvy ;) )

Yes, if it is to go on for ever, could Savvy open a new one with the first post as is, then the next 5 or 6 posts as his list. The amount of effort he puts in is amazing, and it deserves permanent recognition.

Easiest way would to be to have them on the first page surely.

They are on first page in the first post as soon as nerf does the links to them there be a permanent fixture.
I can't see what the issue is with that.
Nerf is still car shopping but they will be added asap

Also never ever admit that you have an unexpected free day because something will always put the kibosh on it.

So firstly I thought I would tackle the tax office letter for youngest son. They sent him a tax coding in February for this year but as his employer they listed his previous one, the hotel where he worked when he was a student.

So a letter went off weeks ago saying was there any need for him to be classed as self assessment as he has only ever had one employer at any one time and he always paid tax at source. Also to tell them that he had not worked at the hotel for nearly 2 years since May 2014 and to give them the details of his employer between May 2014 and November 2015 - obviously they would know this by just looking at his tax records.

So back came another letter which I though asked for his P45 which he got at the end of 2015 from his last employer. When I read it properly though it said it wanted part 1 of the P45 from the hotel, the previous employer.

Well he finished uni and went to work and live up north that May, his paperwork stayed in his section of the home accounts file and so its def not there. Possibly he rung the hotel and had the P45 sent directly up north which would be logical so I would never have seen it and it would never have gone into the home fine box.

So I rang the hotel and spoke to the wages department, explained the
situation as the tax office will accept a copy on headed notepaper from the previous employer. Fortunately it was the same office girl
and she remembered me. She took my number and email but is not holding out much hope. She said she would contact HQ to see if they could help but they are on a new computer system now so they probably can't get access to old files.

So that's all I can do for now unless by some miracle the paperwork magically reappears

In the meantime youngest son has been messaging me since the early hours asking me to locate his qualification certificates. He has not told me what he wants me to do with them. Needless to say he thinks they are in certain folders which are not there. The only paperwork he brought back is in one file box, one large zip folder and one flat box. I've sent him photos of these so he can see the folders he wants are not there with no response
So I am going to bring everything down from his bedroom and go through everything again and try and get some order but I know it's going to be a hopeless cause

So that will be my afternoon wasted and by the time OH arrives home I will be do fed up and in need of comfort food ...we will be having fish and chips tea so the diet will be ruined as well ...

Whatever happens.....perhaps we could/should delay any new thread or renaming of it for a few days until everyone has had chance to read about the new plans....

it's a little unfair to make any quick snap decisions now during the day whilst only a few are online and perhaps delaying the decision for a short period of time would also allow those who only "work " nights to be involved/have their say ...and also cover any of the elite that may currently be on holiday etc
