New credit card?

in Credit cards
I havent got a clue about what credit card I should look for or things I should look out for. I am travelling to Australia and need abit more money just incase. I have been advised to take a card with money on rather than cash. I have looked at APR and worked out how much I would pay back if I borrowed £1500, however im not sure what credit cards are good for international travel. I am wondering whether its best to go with my bank Natwest for a credit card or look at other ones. Any help would be great, thank you.

My daughter works all over the world and recently holidayed in Australia, she uses the Halifax Clarity Credit Card, you get near exact exchange rate, get a month to pay money back and only v slight charge if money overdue, take money out at hole in the wall to make the most of your card, do not use to purchase items, just take money out of hole in wall and pay for items, Good Luck.

That post above yours isn't very well worded but I think they might just be referring to the interest charge on the cash advance.
As worrying is the recommendation to just take cash out, if it's possible to pay on card using clarity then that would be the preferred option rather than taking out cash from an atm and paying with that.0 -

Brenda, that's 2 separate threads you have said don't use it for purchases.
Don't think you should post advise that isn't correct0 -

Ignore the last part of this - use the card to purchase wherever possible (interest free period, S75 protection, etc.) but, if you do need cash, this is also pretty much the best way you can obtain it abroad.0
