I didn't have that as an option so I selected the following option instead "Send to DVD Drive". Should I now insert this DVD into my own laptop because she hasn't done anything in about 2 hours?

No, you'll have to follow the instruction to send to the Image Burner, not the DVD drive.
Which version of Windows 7 is the other computer running?
Did you download the 32 bit version of Vista?

The Image Burner wasn't an option.

The other computer is running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1.

I downloaded the 32 bit version of Vista.

It seems to have stopped because it is saying "24198714 free clusters processed" for over an hour now. The hard drive light is blinking a lot less often and a lot dimmer than before and the laptop is not making any noise, the fan isn't coming on.

It stayed like that until I was going to bed so I closed it down.

No idea as to how long it will take. It takes as long as it takes.

When you have downloaded the image, place a blank DVD in the drive, right click on the image and choose Windows DVD Image Burner. Place a tick in Verify

When I right click I get the following options,

    -Open
    -Scan with Microsoft Security Essentials
    -Share with
    -Shredder
    -Restore previous versions
    -Send to
    -Cut
    -Copy
    -Create shortcut
    -Delete
    -Rename
    -Properties

When I go to Computer>DVD RW Drive (D:) it shows "Files Ready to be Written to the Disc (1)" and the file I downloaded yesterday is there. When I right click on the file I downloaded last night it gives me the following 3 options,

    -Burn files to disc
    -Burn a DVD video disc
    -NTT Media Maker

Above the file name it states Burn to disc.

I have downloaded the program again and it still didn't give me the option of "Windows DVD Image Burner". I really don't know what I have done wrong this time.

Try this link or if you prefer this link(file 2 for 32 bit or file 3 for 64 bit. Ignore the error msg and click on the blue button to continue.

I am currently downloading the first link to see if it will work the way it is supposed to - hope I manage to do it right. :o

Perhaps my fault for not reminding you to un-Rar/Un-Zip the downloaded file in order to reveal the iso image within. You can use 7-Zip or WinRar to do so
Once you have done that, you can right click on it and choose Open with:

    Once you've created the media

Currently travelling, so busy over the next day or two.

I tried the first option and burnt it, although differently to how you said, started my laptop and put the dvd in. My laptop did try to do something with the dvd and after a while nothing happened. I then took out the dvd and put her off. When I put her on again a minute later I selected the option of repairing the drive and after it done that it eventually started.

I hope this makes sense to you because I still don't know why it wasn't working in the first place, never mind how it started going again :o  so thank you. :j  :money: :T :A

I hope the next day or two isn't as stressful on you as trying to explain to me what to do. :o :rotfl:
