As stated my gas account has effectively gone ( and no meter readings shown at all) HOWEVER my electricity account with EON still appears to be live even tho' Iresa told me the take over date was last week. Email sent to Iresa in hope!!

I still have the ability to enter elec meter readings too. When I tried a few weeks ago it wouldn't work and I got an error message.

Cheers - I've thrown that back at them :D
They came back pretty quick with this :-

" as far as I'm aware when your tariff ends your tariff ends. We allow customers to switch early so they don't get fee's but I've not heard of us extending them."

What a load of old tosh. 'We allow' should read 'Under Ofgem rules relating to the end of fixed Term Contracts'. He/she may not have read a Supply Licence but I would hope that CS training would include this important aspect of tariff continuation/protection when switching. I suggest that you wait until you get your Final Bill and if it is wrong, then complain.

I switched my Electric to them earlier today and I am now beginning to think I made a mistake. I did consider Robin Hood Energy for the leccy but they offer no fixes and their standing charge is over 2 pence higher.

I hope that this works out without any big issues or time required chasing this up. I am not too hopeful TBH. These companies are cheap for a reason, customer service is next to none existant.

Haven't had any replies to my query as in post# 361. Can still access my EON account which suggests they think I'm with them for leccy,so have messaged EON this morning.

    Update:

Electric switched on 5th March and I've just been informed that my gas is switching over on the 13th.

I only have direct experience of E.ON, and they promise to keep you on your tariff until the switch date, provided they are informed within 20 days of the tariff ending.

Spot on Raxiel. Provided the new supplier applies for the account within the Price Protection window (open 49 calendar days before a fixed term deal ends until 20 working days after), we'll keep accounts on the cheaper prices up until the supply end date.
