Try giving them a call on their Freephone number.

    What is their Freephone number?

Thanks. That's going to come in very handy in the next couple of weeks when I have to fight to get my final credit balance returned.

I see Iresa are still blocking switch requests when there is any kind of debit on the account.

Has anyone managed to get them to overturn the block via an official complaint escalated to the Energy Ombudsman?

Nope, just in the middle of fighting this myself. They told the ombudsman the their system just can't do it!

This was after they had told the ombudsman that the block was lifted, sending them a screenshot with proof and then proceeding to block me twice more!

The ombudsman has awarded me a very large compensation figure for the inconvenience of this, the fact that I have missed other deals and many other messes. If they pay it then my account will be in credit and hopefully I can leave!!!!

Anyone tried to submit meter readings today ? I've tried twice but it just flashes up "reading cancelled" - I'll try again later on in case the site is throwing a wobbly:rotfl:

Despite the message - I've received the reading confirmation email as well - Wierd or what - but it is IRESA :)

How annoying! I'm trying to switch to a dual-fuel deal but only have my electricity with Iresa at the moment so I assume them blocking is going to completely balls it up.

I got an email from Iresa yesterday confirming that they had received the final meter reading from my new supplier. It said:-

"This is to inform you that we have now received your final meter reading for ELECTRICITY supply. This reading will also be your opening read with your new supplier.

We will use this final reading to generate your final charge on your account. If there is any CREDIT left after this charge, this will be refunded to you. If there is an outstanding payment to make, we will also notify you by email. We hope to generate your final bill within 10days of this notification."

My account is £27 in credit (having stopped my DD payment two months ago) so it will be interesting if they do make the refund within 10 days
