Struggling with Money saving this weekend after having a difficult time at work, it gets me so down and then I just blow the budget. Ended up going to the shop to get booze and a take away on Friday - grrr. Plus I had no sleep so I was grumpy this morning!
Anyhow.....
- Checked Postcode lottery
- Entered a few competitions
- Sold some books via Facebook group
- Listed clothes and a ipod on eBay and local Facebook group. Need a quick sale as my DD's birthday next Friday.
- Completed a market research and had a free family lunch
- Used my costa loyalty points
- Checked surveys
Amazing how many little things you can still get done when your stressed and grumpy!!Competition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -

Sorry not to have answered earlier I am reading this week's threads this eveningI wonder if its something Baileysbabe would know about as the home schooling network may have some informal football teams?
This would vary over the country depending on local interest and some body willing to organise it. In our area we don't have anything I am currently aware of, my children wouldn't be interested if their was. Neither are interested in competitive sports, except when you are trying to beat your previous score/achievement. Currently a group of them are getting together regularly to play informal games of football or basketball or kwik cricket, this is a group of boys and girls, they are aged between 5 and 15 they seem to be having fun whilst playing, keep score and at the end of the game they are all friends and the next time they get together they decide on the teams for that game, as I said very informal.
Sorry this isn't much help to anyone, but I am very happy my children and their friends have a chance to enjoy playing games just for fun. All these children do a variety of sport seriously with clubs and trainers but none of them have chosen to join football clubs.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Hi all, thanks for starting LegoMum
I stayed at a friend's house last night and had a girly night looking at wedding stuff and watching Versailles.
I have someone coming to look at my car tomorrow so fingers crossed they'll buy it! Took it over to a mate who took the wing off and straightened out a huge dent in the wing so I bought him some Guinness and paid him £20. It was worth it he did a great job! Then I cleaned the car inside and out so she is looking her best. I will be sad to see her go as she was my first car but we just don't need two vehicles plus the car tax and insurance is due next month.
Banking checked and spending diary updated. Will need to get some bits from Aldi tomorrow to see us through the week. The freezer is still nice and full
Surveys and FPL done
Two hours overtime at work tomorrow plus work on my assignment
Mountain of ironing still to do and bathroom to clean

Checking in late - just home from dd's cheer party. She enjoyed it, which is the most important thing, but I am more certain than ever that I just don't fit in with the other mothers. I wish I had taken my crochet with me - I'd have been less bored.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »

Morning all,
Today I intend to plant out the sweetcorn & net it against naughty sparrows & pigeons, read energy meters, set timer on washer for cheap overnight laundry, synchronize diaries to get organized for week ahead, bake something with over-ripe bananas & decide what to bake Dad for Father's Day.
Have made good use of O2 Priorities this past week: Free crisps from Boots, free coffee from Cafe Nero & free little Father's Day chocolate from 'Thornton's.
Also found lovely little item in John Lewis perfect for Present Box....only £3.
Must get cracking.
Love to all,

It's absolutely bucketing down outside today. That means my kids won't want to go out and play, which means they can do their jobs.
I have loads of marking to do, so a small list today.PAD

Afternoon all,
A late entry from me as we've been busy & catching up on sleep! Not sure how we'll cope when our little Moomin is here :rotfl:
Thanks for starting the thread Legomum.
To those struggling with slugs I've heard putting broken egg shells on the ground around the plant you're trying to keep slug free helps as the slugs either can't or don't like going over them. A nice free option there you can try (assuming you eat eggs anyway).
This weekend I have/will:-- Convinced friends to come back to our house rather than staying at the pub, I'm not drinking anyway but a bottle of schloer is cheaper than numerous lemonades/soda & limes, & a pack of Budweiser is definitely cheaper for my DH than pub prices!
- Most food from stores, did cheat yesterday & got a takeaway with friends but again that's cheaper than going out
- Washing on eco setting using less than the recommended dose of washing liquid
- Good tidy/clean round, although need to do a few bits again today as 6 extra people creates a lot of washing up/dirt in the hallway etc
- Check online banking & move funds around as necessary, including paying off credit card to ensure no interest is charged
- Start packing for our holiday next week so we can get any last minute bits today/tomorrow rather than somewhere pricier last minute
- Must sort the home insurance today & use cashback if possible, I've got a few quotes but need to actually buy it (upfront) now that DH has been paid
- Research cheapest option to get to London tomorrow
- Ensure phone is set up to use abroad & roaming etc is turned off, I don't want any nasty surprises on my bill!
- Create a meal plan for the next few days, one that will use up anything that will perish while we're on holiday
- Go to Sainsbugs & stick to list
- Check free postcode lottery
