suffers from anxiety disorder and has bad mental health (as diagnosed by doctor, on medication for it) and making herself ill over it.

can she not get her doctor to state she is unable to travel?

I'm sure she could. How would it benefit her though?

That won't get her a refund from the TA and her travel insurance won't pay out unless she declared it.

In fact if she didn't declare it it's just as well she isn't going, that would most likely make any claim invalid, she'd effectively be travelling uninsured.

    Apparently her "friend" can
    a) pay £25 to change the name for someone else to go in my daughter's place, paid for by my daughter, and not tell my daughter or
    b) we could pay £25 to cancel the holiday , the "friend" could pocket the £25 and not cancel, or pocket it and use it to change names
    c) charge someone £300 |(the amount daughter has paid for holiday) pocket it and use £25 to change names.

So be VERY VERY WARY WHEN BOOKING A GROUP HOLIDAY IF YOU ARE NOT THE LEAD NAME!

£25 seems VERY cheap for a name change

    .

On the other hand if she did declare it - we don't know either way- she could claim.

Or for a cancellation. Easy way to ensure it is done- go with lead booker to the travel agent to see it done

Indeed but IMO its because somebody always mucks things up by claiming of not being in a position to pay balance or as in your case not wanting to go.

.......or being outed, over a period of time by the group JonesMUFVforever..........

Do you honestly think a person who refuses to cancel a person's holiday and bullies and attacks them verbally so aggressively they are sick...are more than one occassion...is a good person to go away with?!
Learning experience...and I did warn her not to book but teenagers always think they know best (and some adults too)

Re the cancellation, it was done on line and apparently has to be cancelled on line and we have no way of knowing if she actually cancels or not....whatever we pay.

Learning experience...and I did warn her not to book with them but teenagers always think they know best (and some adults too) and it's just going to be put behind us. Thanks again to those who made them for the positive comments.
