It's always worth having everything in your defence that you may want to rely on. You cannot add to your defence later once submitted. If one of the reasons that the PPC is pursuing you is that they claim you overstayed your paid for parking period and you say "no, I was only 13 minutes over", then grace periods at the beginning and the end of the parking period will more than cover those 13 minutes.0

I've been out of the loop on this for well over a year now so I'm not really sure what is still relevant.0

I'd be interested to know whether there are any quantified grace periods relevant to my case? Having looked at the IPC CoP, it mentions that grace periods should be allowed, but doesn't specify any length.0

In which case try to capitalise on the uncertainty that creates. Use it as best as you can to your advantage. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Search the forum. Go to first page of forum and hit "search this forum" click on Advanced Search, type BPA grace periods into the keywords search box and change radio button from threads to posts.
Failing that, search by asking Auntie Google for the BPA code of practice with respect to grace periods.0 -
But Excel are, or at least were at the time, an IPC member... hence why I'm asking about IPC.0

you can still quote the 2 grace periods from the BPA CoP aas being the typical grace periods that most people are aware of (one before parking and one afterwards to leave) , plus the fact that the SC mentioned that the BPA CoP was the benchmark for these things in the BEAVIS case0

Ahh that makes sense. Thank you, I will do just that.
I've looked through a fair few defences today but can't seem to find anything else that would be relevant to mine. Any ideas?0 -
