Which Credit Card?

in Credit cards
Hi everyone,
Hope you might be able to offer some input. I have never had a credit card before and don't really need one but mortgage adviser has told told me that it can help my credit score if I get one and use it from time to time.
I have had a look but there are so many cards and the ones that are aimed at improving credit score tend to come across as being for those with a bad credit score. My credit score is already good.
I ideally just want something that wont cost me anything to have and I can use from time to time (and pay off immediately) without having to worry about it.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks

You may need a good mortgage broker then.I have had a look but there are so many cards and the ones that are aimed at improving credit score tend to come across as being for those with a bad credit score. My credit score is already good.
Have you looked at the eligibility checker. It is not guaranteed, but does give you an indication of which cards you may be able to get.
Bad score/already good score is irrelevant. They should be looking at the data held within your CR. Your score is not shared with anyone.
That said 'bad data' and 'no or very little data' will have the same impact. You are an unknown risk when it comes to lending as there is no evidence to suggest otherwise.I ideally just want something that wont cost me anything to have and I can use from time to time (and pay off immediately) without having to worry about it.

Any CC will cost you nothing if you use it correctly.
Make a purchase and pay off in full on the due date.
Buy - pay - repeat.
After doing this month after month you will have evidence that says you can manage credit sensibly.
Do not miss a payment.
