well, I was made a scrambled egg + bacon sandwich by DH for breakfast. As it was so late it really was brunch. Lunch will probably be some fruit at 4 or so, and then dinner is some lentil spag bol on wm pasta.0

Afternoon Guys!
The girl who came this morning is starting tomorrow at 9.30:D ...she seems lovely. Couldnt believe she was only 20...so mature for her age. She is partially deaf, so lip reads sometimes...I can do basic signing so not too bad. I said that if my speech pronounciations get sloppy...just to tell me:rolleyes: She is going to take the ironing home with her, which means that she will only be here for about 2.5hrs a week to help with some other stuff. Her mum is disabled, so understands my frustrations and she is a hairdresser...so a big bonus;) I hope it works out OK, she was just soooooooo nice.
Chicken is in the oven, the veg needs peeling etc but that can be done later. Have just had my lunch of baked spud, ham and salad.
Im going to have a sleep and see if that helps me feel any better.
Hugs to all.

Afternoon all
Nice to see you posting again RR, welcome to the newbies.
Hubby & I are just back from our 'night away' that was messed up by the lodger last week. We stayed with friends, had a lovely meal & a fun evening. They have just come back from getting married in Mexico, they stayed at Desire which is a 'lifestyle' friendly resort. Their stories kept us in stitches throught the evening.
After chatting with our host last night, he has convinced me that a wireless set up will solve the problems with the lodger hogging the pc.
I now have to cook a meal & do some ironing, so I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Now I'm not going to be able to resist this - asking if a "lifestyle" friendly resort is what I think it is? ie share and share alike so to say to coin a phrase! If it is - then ... well, no, you'd better not share any stories with us... it is before the 9pm watershed.
Re the wireless idea for your broadband - can I raise a cautionary note... health hazard and all that. Cant remember which newspaper I read it in this morning - probably the Guardian or Independent - but the German government is putting the brakes on wireless technology for computers because of their health concerns about it. There is also the little security point - of the hassle to make sure your network was secured, so no-one else could "tap" into it so to say (I gather otherwise that someone could sit outside your house with a laptop - and get right in there! )
Have a good day - off to do some housework myself.0 -
Hello All - thanks for all the welcomes - such a friendly bunch
Well, after the laughter subsided from me ma, looks like I'll be getting my very own 'wally trolley'! Yippee! :j Not baking today - I'm knackered, and our kitchen is full of cakes and biccies at the moment - I have however purchased some measuring cups and spoons
Just cooking a curry tonight, and working on our hampers for christmas (well, talking about them anyway lol)
Hope the day goes well for y'all

Its official...I can't cram any more into my freezer. That'll teach me for bargain shopping! Well, at least it'll stop me spending too much money. In fact this next week I won't be spending a lot at all. Have plenty of everything.
Made some choccy fairy cakes yesterday for OH's lunch at work. Also picked up some cheap chrisps. 26 packs of cheese and onion...that'll stop me from pinching a pack here and there (I hate cheese & onion).
Done most of the washing....just the colours to sort out. Half hoovered the stairs. I need to complete the other half and do the upstairs. When is anybody's guess. Can't do it when babe awake as she causes havok downstairs. Can't do it when babe is asleep cos she sleeps upstairs.
I'm also continuing to sort out the remaining boxes from the move...am slowly working things out. I also need to get the relevant bits to have a go at the windows. They are revolting.
At the moment I'm relatively happy with my life with a lack of tv, phone and broadband. It gives me good reason to get on with other things.
Lily is also walking with furniture now .... so very soon we'll have complete chaos on our hands. As soon as she gets stable on her feet I'm going to be in for some serious trouble.
Hugs to those that need them and a big hello to all.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

Hi Everyone
Just back from my overnight babysitting and had just a quick squint at you all today. Nice to see that most of you seem fine and dandy.
Well I have been renamed Jo Frost by my DD and SIL. Suppernanny did well!!! I arrived to chaos yesterday and after a swift lunch took DGS1 & 2 off to Deep Sea World where we had a great time - also a dinosaur exhibition there at the moment.
Arrived back to yet more chaos -DGS3 yelling his lungs off, parents looked like they were building up to an 'incident'! Took charge of DGS3, big boys out into back garden to play with the new fish figures in paddling pool, sent DD upstairs for shower and SIL was able to cut the grass!
Anyway to cut a long story short, they left at 7.00. Baby asleep, DGS2 just about asleep and DGS1 watching the end of Chicken Little. All was calm. Boys all tucked up before 8 pm. Quick bottle for DGS3 at 10.00 (he did watch Casualty with me - suitable for a baby that age!!!!), text to parents to say all OK, GB in bed before 11.00 and next thing it was 5.45 am!! Reckon not bad DGS3 slept all that time. We were all up, dressed, breakfasted and DGS3 back down to sleep by 9.00. Boys played well, DGS3 slept until Mum and Dad got home just before midday - a result! I might add that when DD arrived home she looked as though she had had a boobs job!!!!!!!! She couldn't wait to give him a feed.
This Slapped Cheek thing - DGS3 has a really bad cough and is very 'rattley' if you know what I mean, plus loads of 'bogies!' up his nose. Doctor didn't seem to think this a problem but it does make him gag on either the boob or the bottle because his breathing restricted. Any of you know if these are normal symptoms of this virus? I feel he has something else!
Haven't phoned my sister yet re Mum but she knew where I was if anything developed over the weekend. DH should be back from his short break later this afternoon - we are going to have an Indian carryout!

grannybroon would the doc consider prescribing some nose drops for DGS to clear the congestion in his nose? I'm not sure how old a child has to be before they can be prescribed but DD certainly had them when she was very young. Pseudoephedrine I think it was called. It was basically a saline solution and helped to clear her nose so she could breathe properly. As I said in my earlier post, DD had slapped cheek when she was younger but didn't really seem to have any other symptoms so can't offer any advice there, sorry.

Hi Annie
Thanks for quick response.
DD has bought a tube thing that they can suck out the stuff from his nose but it is the awful rattley sound that worries me that I feel is further down. I think he may have a combination of the Slapped Cheek thing and a really nasty cold. He was so sweet today trying to have big words with his Mummy once she fed him when she got home!!!
