If they contact you offering ask for your statements. they've admitted fault here I don't care what some director has agreed to pay so it doesn't damage them the most financially.. if I overpaid you can expect I will be asking for that overpayment back in full..
Regardless of your opinion this is what I would do. & Anyonr with common sense would do it as well
So how do you propose to work out how much you have overpaid and how much you deserve to be paid back?
Even without waiting for the letter (if you have been affected) you have jumped the gun and accused Argos of trying to con you.0 -
I don't have an Argos account. I'll just say it here don't be shocked if you paid than the £100 they are offering you.
You are allowed to ask for a break down of the charges.
You shouldn't always just take a companies word for it.
I did say if Argos contact you ask for your statements. Think about this for a second look back at wonga. The fca told Wonga to redress accounts with affordability issues they offer a nominal redress at the first contact but now people have asked for their statemens and they are able to reclaim £1000's.
I have stated nothing but reasonable information for people to review. You guys have chosen to pick holes in it.
I hope those people who genuinely want to look further into this and they read what I have stated and they questioned Argos about their accounts.0 -

They've outlined an estimatechief executive of Home Retail Group, says the amount for each affected customer was likely to be "double-digit" (so no more than £99)
It also says you will get back what you have paid, plus interestHome Retail Group says you'll be refunded what you were overcharged plus any interest on the repayment.
I'm sure it will all be put right when the letters are sent out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards.
