Drastic action is needed. How about getting a credit card paying the arrears off the rent then paying the credit card company back in smaller instalments?

It'll cost money in the form of interest but it will keep the roof over your head. A suspended possession order would only be activated if the rent was not brought up to date within the time limits set.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Was using credit cards early this year to pay rent and live, they are maxed out!
And now just to add insult to injury , just had gas safefy inspection and my boiler has just been turned off.... Because it is unsafe, because of extension my neighbour built that my landlord were suppose to check and monitor and contact them, but did not! And nobody can help me or know what's going on!

Where are you going to live? The housing association will not help you be rehoused as you've got rent arrears. Private landlords won't touch you. You need to do anything to get the £1,000 to pay the rent and you can stay in the property.

Rent is priority bill number one. I'd stop paying for everything else first. Sell everything you have and get that rent paid and you can stay. It's just a suspended possession order. You can sort out the gas/electric/water/phone/internet later. As least you will have a roof over your head. Sell the TV, cancel the TV licence....sell the sofa.

If you do not pay it or come to some sort of reasonable arrangement they will get possession and you will have to stay with friends or family until you can get your rent arrears cleared and become eligible to apply for social housing again.

This is really, really bad advice. A HA will sort out an affordable repayment plan with any debtor, without charging any interest. CAB and Shelter and Money Adviser at the HA are the right routes to be going down.

    Thank you all for advice,
I have stuck my head in sand and have not been able to think clearly enough to deal with it.
Have been checking all paperwork now, overwhelmed, but have to sort it!
It seems like they have not recorded or received all my payments.....
I have to do a thorough check to make sure....

I spoke to housing association this morning, they were not aware/ have forgotten about housing benefit payment, even though this was discussed and should be all on my file 2/3 weeks ago.
They stated they don't want to evict me, but need to ensure regular rent payment... I totally understand

This is true - but you must stick to any repayment plan that is worked out.

You say you have seen their Money Adviser - do they know about your other debts - credit card etc.? They can help with this too. If they don't know about all of it, make another appointment to see them, and take everything with you.

I had been sticking to payments in last 3/4months, when there was a delay I would let them know.
Debt was going down.... Only gone back up now because housing benefit is now not being paid to me, but it will go down again once they receive payment

That's not the point. You need to pay on time and make it your number 1 priority.
