Payment a Day Chapter 17

Hi All,
Erme - I think I'm more of a cheapskate than organised :rotfl:. And any bulk buy that can be passed off as a present can definitely count
Buying toiletries in the January sales can last for a long time throughout the year when you get them in bulk. I just buy up to the value of whatever I would have paid full price. And those kind of things come in handy for teacher's presents at the end of the year. I also buy father's day cards, mothers cards, christmas cards, wrapping paper or seasonal gifts just after the event has happened, as they're cheaper and then I just put them aside. I also stock up on children's birthday cards that are not age specific from The Card Factory and I keep all of them in a box and just sift through it when a birthday or event happens. It's saved me from running around at the last minute, or trying to buy a present a few days before I've been paid. But I do need to budget for this better though, as most of it is impulse buys
:rotfl: I spent saturday afternoon panicking over an estranged relative's big birthday yesterday. I eventually bought the family's favourite tea bags, a birthday card and a store voucher. Don't know if she'll even accept the parcel (here's praying) as we're that estranged but felt it my duty
Scarves are done...gave up on the bookmarks. Got my candle snuffers yesterday from ebay and so I just have to buy candles for those. and still have lots more christmas stuff to do....at least I got care worker's traditional parcel sorted beginning of month (to avoid thieves in the office - hence I send it so soon!!!) - budget for any care worker's for presents - £1 per team! This includes stuff like mini doughnuts, edibles, calendars, cards, anything! Tend to get away with stuff if I do a budget of £1 per team :T
So no padding and with benefit changes budget is completely froot loop. Have a free budgeting tool (CAP Money) from Christian's against poverty who also do DMP so will be on there quite a bit soonish
Have a good day folks and it's only about 6 weeks till christmas

I have to say Erme, if an estranged relative remembered my birthday and sent me a gift it wouldn't even enter my head to refuse it. It's a lovely thing to do
