Thanks kirstypoos, it's not an easy illness to manage is it? Seeing as our health fluctuates so much. I'm glad that I was made redundant and I'm able to have a little career break. But trying to find a decent part time job is proving more difficult than I thought !
I always buy presents in the January and summer sales, or as and when offers are on, and then use them for birthdays throughout the year (especially as my son is a bit too popular and attends too many parties outside of my budget :rotfl:). I also allocate gifts for Christmas from the same gift stash that I have in my hallway cupboard.
Gosh you're so organised? My christmas stash? Does being on No. 4 of easy lacey scarves I found in a crochet book I got in the summer (was hunting for something else - complete impulse buy LOL) count? I somehow don't think so? And what to buy the other half (my twin) whom I told 3 x last december I was celebrating Christmas last year (quite new as have been strict calvinist for over 10 years) only for her to pipe 10 days after new year - what would you like for New Year? - that'll put everyone off for aiming for multiple birth :rotfl: . I love children but my twin - umm - lets change subject:D
Stay well and warm peeps!!!

Hi All,
Just scraping in with a £25 to MBNA please mandz1 - I have finally got this card under £1,500 - and thanks for the well wishes.
Erme - I think I'm more of a cheapskate than organised :rotfl:. And any bulk buy that can be passed off as a present can definitely count
Buying toiletries in the January sales can last for a long time throughout the year when you get them in bulk. I just buy up to the value of whatever I would have paid full price. And those kind of things come in handy for teacher's presents at the end of the year. I also buy father's day cards, mothers cards, christmas cards, wrapping paper or seasonal gifts just after the event has happened, as they're cheaper and then I just put them aside. I also stock up on children's birthday cards that are not age specific from The Card Factory and I keep all of them in a box and just sift through it when a birthday or event happens. It's saved me from running around at the last minute, or trying to buy a present a few days before I've been paid. But I do need to budget for this better though, as most of it is impulse buys :eek:Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle
