TSB banking problems

Practical advice: Give the bank the info/evidence they have asked for. Have you done this yet?
First I knew of this was at 4:30pm yesterday.
Off to the bank this morning, I don't imagine they are going to be any help though, 45 minute phone call yesterday led to nowhere."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

ever heard of 'glass half empty'?
Try being glass half full for a change...The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Okay. I think that we have established that you only have one bank account and that you also use it for your business. Is it a business account? If so then it's unwise not to have a personal account. If it's personal then are TSB okay with the arrangement? It's quite possible that your broken their T&Cs or that a large number of entries has caused them to be suspicious and the £20 is just the most recent.
I'd echo others advice in that it would suit you to be calm when you get to the bank as they're more likely to put themselves out to help you.0 -
It's a business account, I'm a sole trader, down the bank now, bank manager pulled up an event screen, community fraud marker against my account, what ever that is?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I'd suggest that rather than posting on here while you are at the bank (!) with TSB trying to resolve this, you should concentrate your efforts on working with them to get access to your money again (although I'm still extremely doubtful whether the majority of what you have said is really correct).0

All I can say is go to the bank and find out what's going on, and when you do get your money back make sure you open 2 or 3 different accounts.
All the bestWhat happens if you push this button?0 -
I'm at their mercy, there's nothing I can actually do about this or any way to work with them.
I might get it back, I might not, whole business banking dept is phone based it seems, bank manager although helpful cannot resolve this."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

They must have given you some information in your initial call.
Where were you advised to take the proof so that they could 'see' it?
Are they sending you a letter to confirm what they have done and your next steps?
I once mis-sent a payment when transfering from one of my accounts to another one. 1 digit error, didn't spot it when confirming transaction etc. It also involved the bank in question.
None of what you mention took place on either account. I was informed that they would make contact with the accountholder the funds were incorrectly (on my part) sent to and would then hopefully be in a position to correct my balance -
I was informed that it could take 21days if my memory serves me correctly.
I was also advised that should the recipient dispute that the funds were legitimately sent the matter might take longer etc.
No accounts were frozen, I was simply £s down for what was actually a week. It was also several hundreds of pounds.
Whilst inconvenient it is hardly theft and perhaps security has been stepped up due to the violent robbery you mentioned?
You are somehow caught up in a legitimate investigation that was not due to a fault of the bank or in any way it's making. Your sender is at fault and you agreed to conduct your transaction in this manner with a stranger without a paper trail evidently.
The bank appear to be the least culpable in this whole thing.
Your money will be back, lets hope your 'buyer' isn't - in some form or other...0 -
First excuse was that the buyer had sent the money to the wrong account, then story changed to me somehow hacking the account and helping myself to £20, tsb business banking have a policy of not talking to the customer, I have to communicate through a branch manager who then acts as a go between.
Insane, but there it is"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

So you cannot work with them directly, therefore the bank manager is at the epicenter of your resolution are they not?0
