We are in the North Pennines as I write:j. We love driving around and the first sunny(ish) day we will go there. Hardknott is one we haven't done yet, so I will have to twist OH's arm a bit:rotfl:

Last Tuesday we spent an enjoyable day in Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside, and Grasmere. Bowness was mobbed, goodness knows what it'll be like during the summer school holidays.

Wednesday we had a bit of a pub crawl in Lancaster and Morecambe. £2 a pint at the Dog & Partridge in Bare.:beer:

Thursday morning, travelled round the Bay for 3 hours in Grange-over-Sands. Beautiful views back across the Bay. The weather was v.kind to us, had it rained then 3 hours it might have been a bit of an endurance test. Loads of coffee, and charity shops though.

Leighton Hall in the afternoon was excellent...

...the guide we had spoke to us and not at us, and brought a wonderful old historic building to life.

To finish off at Leighton Hall we had a flying display from some impressive birds of prey. Hold on to your hats ladies.:)
