Nice. I like the way you prioritise :)

Interesting to read your post about the self-neglect. I have been feeling the same. Frumpy and unattractive. It makes me self-sabotage, eat badly and not be active. I know that eating better and being more active and taking better care of myself will generate more of the same but i still cant seem to break out of this funk.

Thank you Boxofpaws. Frumpy and unactractive just about sums up how I feel except it took me loads of waffle. Not much has changed really and although I started to eat better i self sabotage too and I think I've put weight on. I'm apple shaped and I really hate it as well as it being very bad health wise. Tomorrow I'm going to go and get some new jeans while mum watches DS. I'm dreading it to be honest as buying jeans is a nightmare.

I've been missing from my diary for a couple of days again. I have been working until the early hours and the getting up at 5am again so have felt a bit pooped. Hopefully back to sort of normal again now.

It's lovely here today so I need to catch up on washing before the rain returns. I would like to also spend some time in the garden now that I have finished all my urgent sewing jobs. I got a nice little payment for it yesterday though. I also want to get rid of a load more clutter and rubbish. I put a half filled bin out on Fridays knowing I had loads I could put in it. This will not happen again until this house is clear, clean and clutter free.

Looking back at my paying of all my debt challenge while on holiday, well I don't think it will happen :( but I'm going to keep trying. But however far I get I have nearly £1000 in my emergency fund which I thought was impossible two months ago.:):j. My challenge for this week is to find the last £219 to get my fully funded baby emergency fund then move properly onto baby step 2. I'm so excited to be so close.

Right ho, time to get the washing out and the next load in.

Have a lovely day all. X

  • I aim to fill our two brown bins before they go out each fortnight. It can lead to mad attacks on overgrown everythings but it's slowly creating a kind of routine. I too continuously self sabotage and find it hard to self care. I have managed to address one small aspect by reminding myself it's what my OH appreciates. Not quite self care but babysteps.

I guess it's the routine which I need INOD, but it's something I have always struggled with. I'm sure we will both get there.

I thought I would just look back at what I've achieved to motivate me to carry on. :o. I've been a bit lazy this weekend.

Moneywise I have reached and exceeded the £500 baby emergency fund as suggested by Dave R for folks on a low income. I'm so close to achieving the £1000 I'm not sure weather to carry on to reach this figure or move to Baby step 2. You see to reach the figure I need to find £219, which ironically is the amount needed to pay off my overdraft and bring me back to zero. Decisions, decisions....... I'm thinking whichever way I go both would be a massive psychological boost but I have never had £1000 in savings. Perhaps I should continue towards the £1000 and make septembers target to pay of one debt completely. Oh I'm sorry for the waffle im just confused and being impatient again.

The garden is starting to look much better. Still a way to go but it's getting there and it's something which can be done with little or no spends. :j

I have treated the woodworm and will do it again this week. Hopefully it will be sorted. Little bugg€rs. The rest of the week I will need to continue with decluttering and sorting the house, especially as the party will be happening soon. It's a bit strange, I was wondering around the house yesterday and even though I have got rid of piles and piles of carp there seems to be more there than before. It's really starting to make me cross, will it ever look normal. Or perhaps it's cisiting customers houses which has brought to my attention how bad it is. It's not one persons house either, it's everyones. They are all clean, tidy and utterly clutter free, especially the one . I nearly asked not to give me cash but some hours work helping me out. :rotfl:

Due to the amount of sewing the hall floor is still not done. I will try to do this tonight. Fingers crossed. I also have some glossing to do in there too.

Finally over the weekend we started to strip the tv stand which I had attempted to shabby chic a couple of years ago. :o it was a real mess, especially as DS had started to peel it. It's half stripped now so need completing, rubbing down the staining. I think I have retired from the shabby chic thing.:rotfl:. it looked awful, when it does when I do it. ;)

Anyway it's been a sucessful and not so sucessful week which is ok. I need to make the next to work for me before returning to work on the 21st. :( I love being at home.

    Have a good day all.

Hi, I've caught up (again :) ) with your diary and am in awe. I need to take a leaf out of your book and get decluttering and working on the house and garden.

Please keep posting - you are motivating me!

Good luck with the jeans shopping. A few weeks ago I bought some really nice ones in a charity shop so it can happen. The trawling round and trying on is work but the pay-off of new jeans is worth it.

As to paying off OD vs reaching your EF target (wow!)... my personal choice would be the OD if you are being charged for it, but I think for you the real motivator is the EF, so that might be the one to aim for. Whichever you chose, you are a whisker away from achievement. :T:T:T

    2024: Trainers 5, dress 7, slippers 5, 2 prs socks (gift) 2, 3 prs white socks 3, t-shirts x 2 10, 6 prs socks: mostly gifts 6, duvet set 7.5 = 45.5/68 coupons
    20.5 coupons used in 2020. 62.5 used in 2021. 94.5 remaining as of 21/3/22
  • I'd do the EF first then the OD. Both are doable over the next few months and did you ever think you'd have a four figure savings pot? If you Declutter to the bay, an income could be split between the two so there's still some progress on each front.

I'd add the savings to your EF as it seems to make you less stressed (I am the same, don't like when I have no savings).
