I have used the steamer to complete it but to be honest it drives me a bit mad as the fabric cover keeps coming loose.

I use old towels cut up and secure with elastic bands. Then when they get disgusting I throw the cloth away. I'm constantly keeping old rags for this purpose.

Hope you have something nice planned for the weekend :)

Thanks DIA, I never thought of that :o. Sometimes I wonder about myself :o.

I've realised today how so little time and effort makes such a difference. There is no reason for the mess and clutter (I'm getting fed up of that word you know).

The budget is getting more and more complicated. Everything I think I have everything listed I think of something else. It's nice to be able to see what's coming and what I need to do by the end of the year.

I need to stop posting so often each day. I seem to have become obsessed again, sorry.

    Night all.

I don't worry when I get obsessed with debt anymore. It doesn't last. I get bored with the debt, then panic and try and pay it off by in 5 minutes, then get angry with my past self, then I give myself a 'I took a long time to build up debt, so it will take a while to reduce it,' then back to obsession again. The cycle of debt eh?

I love you posting. Please don't stop :)

Don't stop posting! Don't even slacken up! What am I going to read if you do? :(

You said about how so little time makes such a difference. Have you ever tried to see how much you can do while the kettle boils? That's quite fun.

Making shirts and belts - you are so talented! I am sure your family would love something like that. Beautiful, practical, personal and not too bulky. Perfect.

I often do the kettle one. It's very satisfying and I get competitive with the kettle. Or sometimes can I get the washing up done while the toast cooks.

I love to receive homemade presents myself too. Mind you if I sent them to the in laws they would be very offended. Looks like Dh will be off to b00ts again this christmas.

You really made me laugh. This is so me, actually it's probably most people on this part of the site.

I sat on DS's bed last night while he was going to sleep thinking if I could pay off the whole debt in one week/month by selling everything in the house apart from the absolute essentials. I'm not sure if it would be doable but I'm sure it would make a dent in it. I'm not going to do it by the way. :o

I'm off to Birmingham this morning with a customer to choose fabric for a dress. I don't like cities or crowds so I will be glad to be home again. This is a big commission so will bring in quite a bit of money. :j

Anyway must get ready. See you all later with more innane wafflings.

    Ah - you're still posting! That's a relief :)

Your comment about paying off everything by selling everything reminded me that Jack Monroe did just that, though I don't think it's on her blog any more.

I've realised today how so little time and effort makes such a difference. There is no reason for the mess and clutter (I'm getting fed up of that word you know).

I'm wondering whether constantly thinking about debt and clutter is a self-fulfilling prophecy?
The law of attraction is about you attract what you think about so by always thinking and talking about clutter then you can't get rid of the clutter as it is attracted to you.
But by thinking and talking about a tidy home with a home for everything will eventually guide you to that (obviously you have to do the tidying, its not that magic!!).

I know Mooloo often posts on her thread about positive thinking and she finds that when things start going wrong she gets into a negative spiral and then more negative things happen but when she thinks positively and takes 5mins each morning to visualise life as she wants it to be then life is much better and happier for her.

There is a book called The Secret that a lot of people rave about which is all about law of attaraction - I have an e-version if anyone would like a copy. Just PM your email address and I will send it on.

Feel free to ignore if you don't like mumbo jumbo:rotfl:

A budget is an ever evolving thing so I think its good you keep finding more and more outgoings to add to it, it shows you are really thinking about your outgoings and hopefully can start putting money towards irregular expenses.

I like you posting as well Parsnip - I think it helps to write regularly as it keeps the thoughts and feelings flowing especially if you have no one in real life you can offload to.
  • i've got both the book and the dvd of the secret. i'm determined to watch the dvd at least once a week.

    Thank you EagerElephant.

I know what you mean. I do try to just get on with dealing with the house but I'm very impatient. A lot has left lately but it seems like I have even more. Perhaps I'm just beginning to notice it more as areas clear. I do think. Lot of it is to do with lack of time to focus on it too. I'm sure many if not all of us have that problem.

I have a copy of the secret but thank you for your offer. I did read it and desperately wanted a baby....then along comes DS :) after many false starts :(. It was most likely just coincidence but who knows. We don't know everything do we.

I wasn't going to stop posting, it's just some days I feel like I go on and on. :o

I dipped into Jack Monroes blog in the past but I've not seen that one. It was just a wonder really........if minds were really, really put to it how quickly could debt could be cleared. I'm quite attracted to extremes to be honest and wondered if it could be done. Probably not if it involves ebay, I'm useless at it.
