Thank you all for the comments.

Tonight I have filled another two bags, one of rubbish and another to donate. I'm still working on finding that ruthless streak, but I've done more than before. :j its DS's stuff which I can't let go of yet.

I have my last day of work for the week tomorrow then three days off.

Its so good to not have spent the day obsessing about money. Go with the flow from now on.

Time for bed for a few hours sleep before waking early again. Anyone know a cure for insomnia.

  • When going through counselling, I had a similar experience. It took me two weeks to figure out that in my case it was optimism. It had been so long since I'd actually felt that things could improve. It doesn't stay around all the time but it helps that I remember when it was there iykwim.

You're doing so well with the clear out. Keep going.

Thank you INOD. Yes i do feel optomistic. I felt happier since accepting its going to take time.

I woke up this morning at 2am feeling dreadful. A banging head and feeling really nauseous so I have called in sick today. Im going to have another sleep and hopefully it will go away soon.

I have really been enjoying having a clear out. Hopefully if I feel better later I can continue. DS's bedroom is the next hotspot.

    Time for a nap.

    Evening diary

The big clean up continues and I'm now up to 11 bags since the 8th of January. Certain areas are starting to look better but there is still a long way to go. The biggest bugbear is toys, they are everywhere. DS has chosen some toys and books to get rid of, but we still have more to sort. I also have two pieces of furniture which needs to be moved from his room which will give him more space.

Another big space taker are his old clothes....since birth. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get rid of some. The only other place is in the loft but that's the only completely empty place in the house and I would like to keep it that way as long as possible.

One realisation for me is that of the 11 bags of stuff gone I can only remember what is in a few of them. It must have been really important stuff.

Sorting out plans for the weekend are:

Under my bed...... It would be near impossible to clear it but I'm going to given it good try. If DH didn't have so many pairs of shoes it would help.

DS's room.....needs to be an ongoing thing at the moment. When there is a bit more room then the toys in the sewing room and sitting room can go up there.

The sewing room cabinet in the alcove.... Who knows what's under there.

I have two draws in the tv unit to sort but I will need to build up to those. They are the draws from hell.:eek::eek:

I think I will set the alarm for 6am tomorrow to have some time for myself before the [STRIKE]miniature pest[/STRIKE] I mean, DS gets up. ;)

Time for bed now, but I may have a little mooch under the bed to see what can go. I have a half filled bag in the bedroom.

    Oh the glamour:)

    Feeling good.

So far in my '30 bags in 30 days challenge' I have cleared 15 bags in 7 days. :j

Last night when I went to bed I started mooching under the bed and started another bag. Unfortunately DH came up to bed so I had to stop. I have completed it today and it looks amazing. It was totally cluttered with books, shoes, boxes, etc and so dusty. Now it has DH shoes and no dust. If only he wasn't such an Imelda Marcos.:rotfl:

I seem to have focused on different spots in different rooms and it's working for me. It would be better to focus on one room but I'm too skittish for that. Whatever I'm doing, it's getting me somewhere at least. :) I think this will be a project for a couple of months at least if I include work on the garden.

Also all the focus on the house stops me from nibbling too much.:D

Nothing interesting moneywise. I'm waiting for payday really to start hitting the debts. I do have my budget for February to do and also close the vanquis card account too. It's strange but I lived for such a long time within my means on DMP without cards but feel scared about not having them. But if I close it I will focus more on the finances. There will be no room for slacking.

Righteous food then a party with twenty 6 year olds.:eek::eek:

    Hi Parsniphead

Is there any chance your OH could sell any of his shoes? Why does he have them by the way? Office job, football boots, trainer fanatic?

Your doing so well with your bags out the house challenge. I don't keep anything under the bed at all. I can't bear it. Love to see the clean floor and be able to hoover. I swear it makes me feel like a better night's sleep too.

:rotfl:Football boots. He would die if anyone thought he had football boots. :rotfl: We're not a footie family.

To be fair he has about 10 pairs of shoes but to me that's a lot. I have one pair of long boots, one paid of DM shoes and a pair of summer sandals. I don't like shoe shopping.

He does have three slippers though, not pairs, just slippers.
