Been a hot hot day today!!
The littles have run rings around me all day!! I went into town and posted more stuff off that I've sold. I went into the mothercare sale and found 4 tops in my size that have the drop down bits for breastfeeding so grabbed those but came to £46 :eek::eek::eek:
Boys had last footy match of the season tonight and had a blast! I saw the ex and didn't care! Plus he's put on weight and looks like jab a the hut!
I can remain smug that in a few week the extra lbs I'm carrying will be replaced with a beautiful wee boy!:D
My bus ticket will take me up to midday tomorrow so that means a NSD tomorrow to see midwife and take kids out to park. It's supposed to be the hottest day of the year tomorrow:j:j:j:j
And we've got stew and dumplings for dinner
I'm tired but happy!
Hope you have all had a great day

Melting!!! I'm Melting!!!
I really am, I'm so hot I want to shout and everyone, even the poor kids have been snapped at tonight! I switched up dinner- shoved the stewing steak in for tomorrow and we had risotto made with leftover bolognise tonight as I don't think any of us could have coped with stew.
I had midwife today and baby is 2/5 engaged and ready to come out so now I just need to get the birth pool delivered and I'm ready to go!!!
Had a glorious day with the littles, we went for a walk and played in the garden, had lunch and a nap!
Last day at school tomorrow so that's all very exciting too!
NSD today as we used my bus pass in the morning to get to midwife and walked home after in the sunshine.
I've had lots of reflective time these last few weeks and I'm wondering if I am going to realistically be able to be on maternity leave longer than about 8 weeks after baby is born as I just cant manage on the pay and I need to really stay on my salary, I'm going to re jiggle all the finances again this week and try to make it work as the kids really need me to be home just now for them.
I'm craving chocolate! Salted caramel hotel chocolat which is wayyyyy outta my price range at the moment!
I'm just looking at and booking up all our days out for the summer, there is loads of free stuff going on in and around our city so gonna grab some bus passes and make the most of it! :-)Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0 -
Hey lady. It's definitely melting hot! Hope you can get comfy and cool down tonight and that you can find a way to make the numbers work tomorrow.

I hope you are able to juggle, but if it can't be done then you will feel better knowing you are doing what you must. Can you put your paperwork in before baby8 is born for the child support (his daddy will owe) to start soon after he is born? Not sure how the UK system works.
I had to wait six weeks before I could have a tubal. Is that the same for you? You will be down at least a day or two from that so I hope someone can help you.
Very exciting about the pool. Have you done this type of delivery in the past? Will the children be present? This is at home right?
DD1 tried to deliver in the pool, but it was her first child and her hard labor was too extended. She ended up in the bed because she was just so worn out. I thought she would be disappointed but the joy of Baby-girl being born outstripped all preconceptions of how she would get there. She had her at the midwife's birthing center. It was a precious experience!
I'm getting all mushy thinking about your soon to be delivery. I love babies!
Thinking of you in this heat! I hope the weather cools off for your next few weeks.
:j Hi Smod!Overprepare, then go with the flow.

:j Hi Smod!
The kids will be in bed if it happens at night and I have friends on call to take them on play dates if it's in the day. TBH tho when my dd was born at home then came and met her 10 mins after she came out! They all gave her cuddles while I delivered the placenta and had a bath!
I think if I hold off on bankruptcy for a few more weeks I'll have enough saved to manage the BR fee, grab a cheap car and be on may leave for 6 months as TBH it's the bus travel that is crippling me! In September if the kids don't get shifted to the same school I'm looking at £22 per day in traveling costs!:eek::eek:
I am also going to ditch nursery except for the free hours and have the 2 smallest at home and in Jan my almost 2 year old will get 15 hours free too- that's means I can remain on May leave until March.
It's just about do- able!! It will be bare minimum for Christmas gifts this year though and no trips to any amusements or fun fairs over the summer.
TBH there is so much free stuff going on though I'm sure the kids won't miss it!Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0 -
Hi Kim, Hi Mila :j, all,
It's too flipping hot! Only 31 Celsius here, whatever that is in Foreignheightbut so humid. It kills! How anyone puts up with this all year round is beyond me. This is only the second day and it's already old. Where is our British summer? 20 degrees if we're lucky and the occasional dry day.

People live in air conditioned homes and drive air conditioned cars in hot arid/humid climates. It's also just something one gets used to living in and dealing with on a daily basis. I went to Phoniex and it was incredibly hot, but Phoniex is still a fast growing area. My kid's stepsister, who lives there, posted the temp was 122 F (50 C ) Now that is hot! I must say we wear very light cotton clothing and drink a lot of fluids.
When I read about your winters....brrrr!! I lived in South Dakota when I was in my late 20's and that was cold. We had lots of snow all winter and a blizzard one year. Everyone had snow tires. I still don't think it's the same kind of cold as many areas of the UK. When I read about people wearing gloves inside their homes because it's so cold, well I can't imagine that kind of cold. I know a lot of the people who post on here are very frugal or don't have the money to run their heating all the time. Still...nothing I've ever encountered.
Plus rain all the time. The thing that struck me when I first started reading on here was how people would always mention if it was a sunny day, or even if the sun came out. Is it mostly gray and cloudy all the time? We have sunshine over 300 days a year. Vastly different.
Here's to our differences and to all we have in common! :beer:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Most days here are grey and overcast at best and raining the rest of the time! It sucks but being ginger and burning very easily I'm actually not a fan of the sun being out a lot. I love Autumn when it's slightly sunny but breezy and cool, cardigan weather really but not raining. i don't even mind the rain really as long as it's not really cold too and windy.
i have probably only slept a few hours tonight. It's been so hot that I have really struggled to get comfy.
Up and shower in a mo then I'll get the kiddos up for school- last day today as summer holidays start tomorrow :eek:;)Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0 -

It's hard in this day and age ( post paleolithic era smodlet) to get that aside from food, shelter and clothing and maybe travel cost we don't have any needs- just wants.
I have to really think about what I am buying now and if I really need it or do I just want it. It really help to have that mentality as once I think 'it's a want' I am able to go on and think 'it can wait till its on sale or I find one pre loved'.
I loved your comment ' well the hell are you....' Lol
