Post paleolithic, indeed! You young whippersnapper! :p:D:p

I think, coming from the mid-Jurassic period, as I do, unless your parents were rich, which mine so were not, you just did not have the option to use credit cards; they just did not hand them out to anyone over 18 years of age. If you had to borrow money, other than a mortgage, you went to see your bank manager, in person and grovelled, basically. Since no-one wanted to do that unless they were desperate, in which case they would be turned down anyway, borrowing was not only not the norm, it was somehow shameful. It stated you could not manage your finances, that you were irresponsible, even.

My parents' generation had so little they had to buy blankets, pillows, never mind cots and prams on HP. A man came to the house every week to collect the money and heaven help you if you did not have it to give him. He would take the blanket/whatever away, even though he could see you had a toddler and a tiny baby. As a result, everyone had an absolute horror of debt and passed this attitude on to their children. How the world changes. We just did not grow up with the sense of entitlement everyone seems to have these days. If you could not pay for it, you did without until you could or did without altogether. There was no other choice.

I bet I sound about ninety, don't I? Guess again. This was far more recent than you might think.

    Sermon over.

    More Britspeak! I'm learning. :)

Good post and I enjoyed reading the whole thread. I really wanted to put in my two cents when one poster said why do people who are debt free come on these threads for debtors. But I have a lot going on today and thought it would probably be a waist of time.

I have been thinking a lot about the pool Kim. Be sure and get the gator locked up before you fill it or else you will have company when you deliver. Gators love water!! :D
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Britspeak is English, Mila. American is not a language, though imo it is on its way to becoming a dialect. Perhaps we should compile a glossary, what thinkest thou?

The gator would probably puncture the pool, as well... that could be disastrous if he chose to do so at the moment number 8 makes his entrance into the world... it would be like the stage version of Titanic, but with a gator... Sorry, Kim, I think the heat is melting my few remaining marbles.

the gator is gone, I sent him packing!!
There will be no unwanted guests in this house! and aside from my beautiful boys no men either!!!!:D:D:D
I don't have the time to indulge in anything other than my beautiful kids so the EX sperm donors can just do one!:D
I'm feeling so strong just now, today I gathered together all of the stuff I kept from my EX and I'm going to post it back to him. I have literally had it with being sentimental. He is an a$#hat and really doesn't deserve any more of my time so I'm making a conscious effort to get over him.
I'm kon mari-ing both ex's out of my life- for good. no excuses, no exceptions!:)

Kim, I think it's really a healthy step forward to get that stuff in the post. It's a hard realization to come to that they aren't what you need and deserve. But when they aren't, no amount of wishing they were makes a beans worth of difference. It's wasted time. So good for you, you amazing woman you!

Smod, Americans have refined and purified the English language. :D We know how to spell and pronounce words correctly. i.e. Aluminum. :rotfl:

Have you thought about posting it without stamps? Then he'll have to pay double to receive it? Or is that just nasty? M2m.

You sent him to be made into a suitcase? That was a terrible thing to do! I liked him!:cry::cry::cry::cry:

    Love it!

What ails you? What happened to flogging things on the book of faces/fleabay? Now, that's what I call clearing out. Kon Mari did not invent that, she just made money from it, typical yank... :D:D
