well the painting went well but its looking like it will need another coat of paint to cover the staining from having mouldy walls for so long. Ive painted a layer of damp proof paint on at the recommendation of the lovely gent from B&Q and its left a lighter tone in this area so I'm hoping one more full coat will even it out.:j
Its looking so lovely in there now but could really do with a new carpet as its so thread bare but I will wait and see what is happening after Christmas as I don't want to spend loads of money on new carpets only to be told the landlord wants me out. LOL:o
I want a nice canvas to go on the boys wall but they are so expensive so I think I'm just going to get a cheap blank canvas from the range or buyology and paint on it a lighthouse and some boats to match the boys bedding and toys.
They love anything nautical or pirate themed.
eldest DD had a wonderful day at high school so now I just have to brave the uniform shop for her on Saturday and we are done :-)
I am just going to get the basic uniform and PE kit and buy the extras as and when she needs them as another parent told me her girl in yr 10 hasnt even used half of the stuff they told her to buy.
the list has stuff like a hockey stick/ lacross stick:eek: and gum shield etc but unless they join hockey or lacross they apparently don't need it.
She got the bus there all by herself and home again, I'm feeling so proud of her right now.
its DD9's sleepover tomorrow for her birthday so we are having pizza for dinner, plus I'm going to make popcorn and mini hotdogs and other treats for them. I love hosting little parties for the kids birthdays.:T:T:T:T
I'm shattered again but I got lots done today so I'm content in that, baby is going crazy tumbling around and kicking, he feels so low and my bump has really dropped like hes engaged so getting ready for D day.:D
Ive realised I only have 2 sets of pyjamas and probably need to buy a couple more just for labour and the aftermath, my friend said primark have all their jammie bottoms in the sale so I'm going to grab a few pairs tomorrow just for my emergency bag and so I have enough to have a few pairs in the wash if needed. With one of my boys my water broke in one set and then went over another pair after I changed and moved around, I had none dry for after he was born:rotfl::rotfl:
Scan again tomorrow too, I cant wait to see my little man!!:D
hope everyone has a lovely evening. As I type my littlest dd is curled up next to me in the bed, after saying for 20 mins 'I no tired' she is now snoring away happily, there is no better sight when your a mother

I know I have no clue about renting, these days, thank the powers, but, Kim, does it really make sense to replace carpets? Is that not the LL's job?
Please forgive the ignorance, I really don't get it. Are you at all likely to be reimbursed for such things? Are you even sure you are allowed to redecorate? Sounds insane, I know, but I came across this just today on the housing thread, some LL bemoaning their tenants idea of decor. I find it so difficult to sympathise with LL's; I know this is unfair as there are some really good ones out there, apparently. I hope yours is one.0 -

sadly its not the landlords job to replace carpets but this one is pretty minging so just wanted to get something cheap. As it happens I found a red and blue rug in the sale for £8 so ive chucked that down and apart from the bit by the door you cant even see the carpet anymore, but that's my spending budget for the week gone leaving me £2 for a treat later in the week.:A:A
The babies have had their last day at nursery/preschool as they have broke up for end of termtime so that's going to save me a small fortune in both fees and busfare.
I got some pjs in the sale today in primark and found some knickers reduced to £2 for 4 pairs which is cheaper than the disposable ones in boots and mothercare, I also grabbed a set of bottles for shampoo/showergel etc so that's all packed now in my hospital bag!
Apart from snacks and drinks which I'm going to get next Friday with my bulk shop that is my labour bag complete!!!!:T:T:T
I also was a bit cheeky and as I went past the school uniform shop they had 10% off for new starters to the school so I grabbed what I thought would fit her in the blazer, shirts, skirts and pe kit- got home and it all fits with a bit of growing room- whOOpie!!!!:j:j:j
shes all ready for secondary now apart from shoes and all my others are ready for school apart from shoes.:T:T:T
I get them measured and buy shoes closer to September to be sure I get the most out of them before they all grow again
I'm aching everywhere right now and just want to sleep but ive got a bunch of 9 year olds squeeling and giggling downstairs so I could be up for a while:eek::eek::eek:
ive sold a few bitstoo and got £50 together for my bankruptcy fee, on payday this month I'm going to try and syphon off a bit more to get this fee together asap.
scan went well, little dude is almost 5lb now at 34 weeks pregnant so looking good, I have low waters though apparently so just hoping that doesn't get any worse.
hope your all well ya'll

Hope the party goes ok, long shot but have u looked as to whether you can apply for a grant 2wards bankruptcy, I know British Gas if your a customer then you can apply throu them,
Another vote for avoid the school list, I went all out, thou I did get a lot from sports direct so saved a few £s football boots went on Facebook sellers, gym shield ended up cutting her gum, as for the rest , a farce,
Just a though but tesco are involved with a lot of schools and sell the logo items, jumpers and polo shirts save a fortune that way,
Xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Kim, the LL might get out of replacing carpet but, if the walls are mouldy, that is an issue, right there for which he is liable. Damp can be a health hazard, as I'm sure you know. I found out quite a lot about this kind of stuff on one of my threads. If you need any assistance, you know you have only to ask, or you can trawl the boards. A poster called G_M seems to know shed loads about the ins and outs of tenancy agreements and tenants' rights.
I really don't want to depress you but you do have rights, you know. No-one should have to live in a damp building, least of all with kids.
Y'all take care, now. Well done on the school uniform items.
Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite. Is that gator in his shayud?0 -
Hi Kim,just came across your diary, i've skimmed a few posts but will have a more thorough read over the weekend, just wanted to wish you all the luck in the world xxNo one is going to stand up at your funeral and say

How on earth do these kids keep on going, I think i passed out around midnight but they have been up chatting and giggling most of the night and still are running around squeeling now!!
I'm never hosting a sleepover again :eek:Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0 -
Morning, Kim,
Babe, you are weeks away from giving birth! Sleepovers are the last thing you need right now, I would have thought, no?
When can you give the squealers back to their respective doting parents? You haven't got them all week end, have you? :eek:0 -
They are all being collected at 2pm! Thanks god!!!Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0
