the IP address should be either 000.000.000.000 to set itself automatically, or set to the IP of live.immersun.com. If you ping this you get a number which is different to what is shown in my unit - starts with 212. or something but not at home at present. My guess is the server has been moved with IP forwarding in place.

The 192 address cannot be correct as that in an inter-only to your LAN address and not internet routable. This might be how you see the link unit on your LAN but will not be the internet address of the server itself.

You could well be right, Pinks. That is the address showing up on my immersion under advanced settings.

.......and on double checking you are correct! That address is that of my bridge under configuration and indeed advanced setting show auto determination of cloud address! I have amended my earlier post accordingly.

    The bridge software version remains.

Out of interest, what versions of the link and immerSUN firmware are you running? I think mine are reasonably up-to-date but that too could make a difference - not that I am minded to interfere too much with my set-up given that it still works :-)

    Thanks Pinnks !

After several days of messing about, I've finally managed to get the thing working again.

To answer another query, the link firmware version was (indeed still is) 1060:3082 but since that is also shown as latest available I couldn't 'update' it. I was toying with a factory reset hoping that would force an older version that I could update but decided to change the Cloud IP setting first.

That was indeed (correctly) set to 000.000.000.000 but I changed it to 77.68.24.20 (got by pinging live.myimmersun.com ) and the display on my computer started working right away.

I still don't understand what went wrong. It was working fine on 31st July - indeed, the myimmersun website still shows daily results up to and including that one but no later. The default cloud IPA was always correctly set but for some reason stopped working on 1st August. I can only assume that the myimmersun server changed then but somehow or another failed to tell 'my slave' where it had gone. I'll keep watching it and hope (i) it continues to work and (ii) it might even update some (or even all ?) of the missing database data from the local cache.

    Eric,

Interesting. I had problems on 1 August and thought the whole thing was dead in the dust. It then started working again. Even more interesting, I have the old IP addy set manually which was done some time ago when I had connectivity problems a few months ago. I wonder whether that is being forwarded but for some reason the 000 addy is not doing its job? Who knows. At least it's working.
  • That's good news Eric!

I find it surprising that you are only getting partial data back from the server as my understanding i that all the data is held in the immersun and when you request the display the server calls it all from your local unit.

We are all left with two issues as well as a support problem and they are recovery of our data and remote/monitor functions should the server cease operating.

Not much we can do for the latter but a partial solution for the former is to download data as individual csv files.
I want my data on a daily basis so no small task to grab each individual day (less than a years worth to date) but a huge task if you have several years worth of recordings! I had been asking 4Eco to release code to download many a day at a time but sadly...............

It was only fresh data (plus the pre-August stuff) for the first few hours but it now seems as though the system has caught up with its 'lost' data.

That would seem to tie in with my belief that data is frequently uploaded to a database on a remote server which can then be interrogated by the myimmersun display programme. If the remote server was just asking the immersun unit for results, I'd expect the 'missing fortnight' to have come back instantly - indeed, I'd also expect that the previous year's worth of data would have disappeared along with the August data. I presume you could further test that theory by switching the immersun unit off then seeing what myimmersun can or cannot find to report.

Yes, I have been downloading the data as .csv files on a regular basis (but now have a fortnights worth to catch up with). I too have asked for a device handler so that I could display fresh data as it accumulated (every 10 or 15secs I believe) but never got any response. The default 'instantaneous' readings plus hourly summaries from the .csv files are all very well but not really what I'd like to see.

I've never got round to trying it yet but I believe it might be possible to monitor the network connection to see what messages are being sent & received.

I decided not to download the hourly data for each day as it is too arduous but I do download daily totals at the end of each month (bit more frequently now for other reasons). If you display the year and download you get every day for the whole year...

I have my energy usage from 2008 when I used to do the imeasure. My year end is 1st Nov to match up with when we got PV in 2015 but this gives you an idea of where we are at 31 Aug

    2010-11 Gas 1111m3 Elec 4027kwh
    11-12. G 1095. E 3866
    12-13. G 1263. E 3658
    13-14. G 1115. E 3418
    14-15. G 1243. E 3115
    15-16. G 880. E 1729

I reckon we are on track to knock 35% off our elec usage in year 1 and maybe 15% off gas depending how cold it gets before November.

And it continued working OK until late last night.

However, the display this morning is back to showing a series of blank icons on the normal display or all zeroes on today's 'history' page although yesterday's history looks correct up till 10pm last night.

The bridge unit is displaying amber on left, green on right which means "paired with Immersun but not with gateway". I've tried rebooting that but it comes back to same setting. Pinging live.myimmersun.com still gives 77.68.24.20 and the 'Cloud IP address' setting on Immersun unit is still showing that.

Pretty sure Immersun itself is working OK but I'm leaving home shortly and won't be able to check any local settings. Would however appreciate any suggestions on what to do next - or indeed feedback on whether anyone else is having similar problems. Possibly significant that it's again the first of a month just as it was when the last batch of problems started.
