We meal plan every week and use up left overs and stuff out of the freezer all the time. We have 2 rogue burgers in the freezer so tonight we're having burgers and salad.
When my sons go to their dads for tea on a Tuesday we often eat bolognese, chilli out of the freezer or a left over roast dinner from Sunday.
It's all about planning! It might be boring but I've only spent £42 in Aldi this morning because we're going to use up stuff we already have.0 -
My latest use up last night was pasta , put chopped up sausages and left over cooked peppers in the sauce . It was very tasty . Made enough for 4 meals so 3 in the freezer costs me less than £2

I love reading what people are having for dinnner. Often have a look on cooking-for-1-board where people seem to write the things I think in my head.
I mean on throwing food away- I probably wasn't very clear. I mean if I get to almost the end of emptying the freezer and I have some Ropey waffles tired beans then will let them go. But trying to eat as much as possible - and this morning it was definitely starting to look better. Got curry tonight and spagbol tommorow.
NSD today- BUT (I know not many will approve or understand) I decided on payday to close the loan so that it is done and dusted. It's not a money based decision, it's a sanity one as I feel this is driving me slightly mad. I can't wait for it to be gone, and to be honest there are far worse things I could be doing with the money.
So that will all be gone on 28th.
My dad still has credit card And my main aim is to be minimally in the overdraft- but yes I know that paying off the loan will not aid this aim but I can't cope with seeing this every time I log on. So just 2 weeks left and then (hopefully) never again.
It makes me feel so sad and so awful and like a massive failure so I know other people would let it run and this is best on paper but I've just reached critical frustration point and think it's worth getting rid so will just have credit cards and overdraft which should feel a hell of a lot easier.
Thank you all. I'm sorry I'm a bit woe-poor-me/depressing viewing at the moment. I do think it's the loan mainly.
Going to get there.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

Added up the spending totals. £32 this week which feels very low. Need to get a few house/food things tommorow and then 2 lunches out next week and friends daughters birthday present to organise before next weekend.
-But by the time next weekend rolls round payday will be very close so getting there.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

Present £20
Pub £25
£8+£13 m and s and Lidl
£11 wilko
£8 lunch
£12 lunch
£6 Tesco
Total £118
Eaten dinner out of the freezer and
Now feel full of salt.
Got spag Bol defrosting for tommorow and freezer is slowly starting to look less rammed.
Need to make a plan for next week. No
Social until Friday (which will not be a cheap one) but next Saturday is a planned pub day so no let up on the social.
The card with my dad is on my mind a lot. I know it's the right thing for him to have it but I feel like I need to go and get it and bring it back. It's very silly (and if I asked him for it I know that he would make me tell him about the money situation and try and fix it and I would feel guilty)
So just need to carry on.
so itching to shop at the moment. Want to buy everything, go to everything and eat everything.
But just need to pay off the overdraft and manage my life a bit better. Very boring rest of month ex next weekend.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

Keep plugging away babe - and don't let one bad day or one bad week put you off. Remember, tomorrow is another day with no mistakes in it (anne of green gables). It took me a long time to pay down all my debt when I was living in london like you. But eventually did it, and it does feel so good to come out the other side. Just keep trying to think how good it will feel when you get your debt to £
0 and start saving (even if minimally). You are young yet so have time, but the sooner you get it under control the better. Lots of love xxx0 -
Hi PSL
I hope you're ok, just caught up on your diary. I've been missing in action (in pubs) recently and thought you might like to know I've joined the club- my debt has gone UP! well we all have a hard time s and good times, the main thing is to keep trying and chipping away at the debt isn't it *sigh* I know you really really wanted the loan paid so you tried to resist but it's gone now. I hope you feel good next month knowing it won't be taken from the bank. Gonna xJan 20 - NST challenge

I'm so excited for you to get rid of that loan, it will feel like such a weight off your shoulders I think.

Thank You all.
I am struggling right now and did spend a bit yesterday.
Sorry to read about your debt going up Goingtodiit. I wrongly read your post as "gone" and got quite excited. I think it's very easy to increase your debt. There are so many things I want to do in the next few months and clothes and home and pressure from all angles.
The loan goes on Friday but I will have to find time at work to ring the bank so if I don't have time it won't happen. It's £312 left then gone forever. No more payments. I just can't wait. Dolly it is massive and all my loan-whinging will be finished. Then onto overdraft followed by Halifax.
"Tommorow is another day with no mistakes in it" I like this a lot.
2 lunches out this week
Social on Friday (and then Saturday)
£13 Mr T
£55 dress and cardigan
£80 - 3 dresses for work, may go back
£55 shoes - will need to go back
£4 lightbulb and £10 watch repair
Might pop to Sainsbury's later today.
Too much spending.
But apart from next weekend minimal social2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.
