You're doing so well. I got paid today and although it's not quite October I've updated my signature as I'm under £4k now!!

Keep going! Can't wait to celebrate with you when you do the 'loan has gone' dance!
  • Glad you had a good day PSL.

There will be many more of them to follow.

Watched GBBO last night aswell, some of those goodies mmmmm!

    Dxxx
  • Thank you so much everyone. I did feel so awful I would have eaten anything that would have helped. Can't believe I spent £12 on 2 steaks, that is 5 whole days of food budget - madness! Going to take vitamins every day going forward.

Today was nsd so 2 in a row. Need to sort out christmas spending because I haven't yet and meant to all week. Change of plans tommorow so probly no lunch till next week.
Work drinks tonight so I am a terrible no-show but a very good mse follower.
Pay mortgage tommorow and then bulk of bills monday so can start to see how things look and what I might need to do. October is looking fairly quiet but with a few lunches and family things.
Going to be tight so pleased to miss the drinks tonight which will not help me with this task. Need to keep on track. Happy with today. xxx

Being happy is what matter's. one day at a time, when stuff crops up we are best looking at it not as a step backwards but more of a cha cha
  • I like that very much tori. I maybe cha cha cha too often!
Spent a bit today but kind of planned.

    £88 christmas
£46 sainsbury- but not all food

    Good
    Cardigan £14
    Biscuits for work £5
    Bread, juice, butter,
    Shower gel
    Spaghetti
    Beans
    Tissues

    Bad
    Chocolate
    Biscuits
    2 x cds £8.00

    So only really £16 food.
    £8.00 cds
    £3.50 toiletries
    £14 cardigan
    £5 work

Very pleased christmas is getting sorted
. Leaving it to december will ruin me! Brother and his girlfriend almost sorted, just need to order thier Christmas small thing online in december then (they at least) are all done.

I rounded up my mbna payments today so going from £8,000 to £7,900.

Lots of bills going out monday. Then survival for rest of month. Lots of staying in, reading books, films and bath. Work is busy too so can see a few evenings there which will save money too.

Very hopeful for October. Curry for tea tommorow which will help with the task.
    Working hard on this.

Brand new month! We're getting closer and closer to being debt free!

I haven't even thought about Christmas yet. My Christmas fund won't be enough as I didn't start saving soon enough.

Well done you for making a start.
  • Thank you for the encouragement Louby. I like getting christmas all sorted and minimising spending and stresses. Lots going on at the moment. Feel a bit like my head is far too full!

Yesterday spent £10 on social eating. Seems ok if that is the entire weekend spending.
    nsd today.

    Then monday nsd
    Tuesday lunch £18 budget
    Wednesday nsd
    Thursday dinner out £25
    Friday - low spend
    Saturday - low spend
    Sunday - low spend

Saturday and sunday planning low key days but not sure how it will work out.
Need to stay on track more than ever right now and not.do any more christmas shopping till october pay. I had planned a take away yesterday and then didn't fancy it so feel like I have saved money there. But it is very challenging, but a new month and a new week does seem to help.

  • Thank you. Its not the most successful of diaries and very slow. Im already looking at october payday. Feels miles away.
Food shop today, I seem to have run out of everything all at once.

    Sausages
    Beef burgers
    Quavers
    Tomatoe sauce
    Oven chips
Frozen peas - the trigger for the shop

    Still need rice
Then next week need to make curry and spaghetti bolognese for freezing.

    Total spend £13.
Will go again friday. Think will go over budget this month.
This weeks a bit funny with a few unusual things coming up.

    24 days to pay day
    Next month
    Mbna £7800
    Sains £2950
    Loan £1685
    Halifax £1854
    Overdraft nil
Hsbc cc tbc depending on rest of month, plan to close by end of jan if on track.
Next month travel cost moves to bank account instead of credit card. This makes me feel like I am making progress albeit very slow right now.
Need a few more days at home.
