  • Spent money on lunch today and will do tommorow too. Not great but it felt unavoidable. I know they creep up but there are a few problems at work and going for lunch with your best work friends can really help the situation for everyone. A fresh prospective can make everything easier.
But I do know this is not great behaviour.

    £8 lunch out
Then chicken, veg and rice and flatbread for dinner.
Tommorow lunch out then beans on toast
    Wed no spending
Thur minimal in day then out for dinner.
    Fri possible nsd.

So from this point slightly less than 6 months of loan left provided everything goes to plan.
Trying to make a plan from march onwards but I think its best left to the time. I imagine I will try to resist the urge to book a holiday, its a strong urge at the moment. I may give in next year depending on how things look and what friends are available.

Also just because this is the place for honesty (I honestly have lots of friends but none i can tell about this) I met a man very recently. I can 100% tell he is bad bad news but i am more attracted to him than I have been to anyone for a long long time. A bit annoying. Wish I could be attracted to stable and loyal librarians but I seem to love everything that is bad for me. I cant let him know first but if the opportunity comes up I cant make myself not want to take it. Tall and non smoking, tattoos (I love men with tattoos) and 3 years younger than me! I need to get to know him better so I realise that he isn't all that! But in the mean time its so very annoying!

  • Glad you enjoyed your lunch PSL, sometimes you just need a wee time out with your work BFF don't you.

I have my finances planned out literally until 2021 :rotfl:

    Not even kidding!

Oh really!!! Well keep us posted on how you get on, I remember that is how I felt about my DH when I first met him :p

  • Aww thanks Dolly. Going off track a bit but I just look at this boy and think oh my goodness he is so good looking and he is choosing to talk to me! Then I normally panic and then say something weird and then later realise what I should have said. There is a comedian roisin something and she explains what happens in this situation so well, I think we are the same. Will see what happens, if anything, probly nothing (and maybe that's best).

Anyway today spent £14 at lunch and baked beans for tea. Home now for evening. The time to pay day from now is quite crucial. 3 weeks and 1 day, its so long. The things that will cause problems include the dreaded socialising and eating too much.
On payday I am going to buy a new duvet and get my hair done. Trying to keep everything as empty as possible, Nandos trip with friend not.seen in ages next week, then full effort into avoiding the unnecessary spending at all costs. Will see how it goes. xxx

  • Awwww I love that feeling!

I will be having baked beans with boiled egg for dinner tomorrow.

I'm going to have to arrange a wee date with my old Sunday team from work plus meet my friend from college so need to keep pennies for that too!

Grrrrrrrrrr sometime wish I could just switch off life until I am in a better place financially but then if I did that I would be miserable & probably spend to cheer myself up.

  • You are doing so well, it's not easy but it will be worth it. Why is this new admirer so bad for you? You never know he might just surprise you! xx

    Current debt: £5,000 (16/05/18)
  • I hope he does suprise me! He is the kind of man that dates too many women I think. Like I think he hasn't yet realised it is quality over quantity! For want of a better word I think he is a player. Will see what happens if anything.

Spent £16 today. £11 at Sainsbury's. £5 charity donation at work. Not been asked im a while so did quick £5.
    Bank account £200
    In purse £100
For 3 weeks for everything! Could be tough from here but im trying and working hard. xxx

  • Maybe that's because he hasn't met the right person yet, that could be you!

You can get through the month on that amount, I have every faith in you.

  • Sounds like me, I was with the same person for 13 years, then the past 3 years it has just been disaster over disaster, I always pick the wrong ones. Tinder didn't help lol. Worst thing is I'm never under any illusion I know they aren't right for me but think I can change them lol I have met someone recently but he's 27...I'm 34  but he really is lovely, but it is very early days. I hope this one is a prince and not a frog for you xx

  • And charity donations in work drive me up the wall!! It is the one's that come round and pester you constantly, can't get away with saying you have no money as they are never really collecting the money there and then. I think it should be a Justgiving page that's set up, with an email sent and left at that! Half the time in my work it's never the people I work with, always their sisters, friends, counsins, wife who's running a marathon!!

  • Aww Reality Check it will come good. Its just hard if you like the bad ones best! I like your cougar style if you don't mind me saying. I used to only date older but now I think dating young is the way forward. 27 is fine anyway. Its not like he is too young for anything.
Dolly I think he does need to meet the right one and then he will behave. When i am with him I would like to see if that is me! I don't like putting specifics in here so I wont say where i know him from but its a place where its kind of difficult to swap numbers or anything so it might be a slow burner or a no burner.
Spent a bit today, but all essential and in cash. Out to dinner tonight too (I know- i will.never pay it off it I keep spending. Yes agreed I know)
