Hey PSL.
Love the idea of a ramble fund. Does this mean I have to give you permission to spend from it?!!
Have you had a play around with YNAB? https://www.YouNeedaBudget.com?
It's online budget tool - which means that instead of looking at your bank account, you look there instead. So if you budget in YNAB £XX into your Ramble Fund / or whatever saving pots you want. You do have to pay a monthly subs for it (but there is a months free trial) and it can sync with an Iphone or android - so if you spend, you just log it on your phone (and it will also tell you how much ££ you have left in that category). The best bit about it for me is that you can budget ahead - so you can basically use up money for future spends, with the aim that you get ahead by at least 1 month. Loads of training / and a whole method to it. Just thought this might be a better way than checking your bank account as it will actually help you to see where you have allocated all your money. It's really helped us to make sure we have covered all our costs.

I second the use of YNAB! I'm fairly new to it, this is my third month but it's changed how I think about money. It takes a bit of getting your head around it but once you do it's becomes a bit obsessive!0

I have planned ynab from april once I have cleared loan, first credit card or both. Then there will be actual money to organise and only 3 or 4 to pay off. It sounds like something that would help me a lot.
Made lunch for 2 days and defrosting curry portion for tea tomorrow.
Ramble I am going to tell you after the emergency. But hoping there wont be any!

I got you. Now you've got a ramble fund, I reckon you won't have many emergencies!
Fair enough ref starting YNAB - it's a shame it is such a cost really, but I think it has saved me far more than it has cost overall. Just staying more in budget is a saving!

Got electric bill today £125. Can not argue with that. Plus he gave me a quote for essential bits for next year. I am slightly stressed at not paying this bill so may pay it before payday because it just feels wrong leaving it unattended.
Today was NSD. Felt like I was fighting temptation all day. Given free reign i would have bought morning cappuccino, tesco snack shop, boots hair things and toiletries, amazon and work wardrobe additions online, lunchtime drinks, next, m&s after work drinks take away.
But instead I came home. Very tough at the moment.
Got planned drinks after work thursday. Unavoidable.
Also need to do top up shop this week. Once we get to the weekend it's only 1 more week of being good.
Very hard right now.
Total spend saturday-now £25.
Im breaking it down into weeks and not looking at internet banking, feels like this approach is helping.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

That's not too bad, I like how you got a quote for essential bills too.
See how good you did, NSD when you could have gone slightly spend crazy! Proud moment.
If that approach works for you then roll with it my sweet.

Not a fantastic 2 days spend wise. Been very busy with work and life things. Yesterday was chips on way home and 2 drinks in pub total £16 then today £7 lunch. Tomorrow lunch and drinks out. Then friday girls lunch. Saturday amd sunday hopeful minimal spending.
Its hard right now but its not terrible. No alcohol planned now till next month. Just work clothes and toiletries could be a problem. Next month I have a few things I need to buy. Im not sure how it will go but the loan is reducing, the overdraft will be paid up and the credit card will be watched. And £36 going into my dormant bank account that i have never used before. I need to request the pin for the card.
2 more work days and then sleep!
Did not mean to have lunch out 3 times this week plus coffee but it has happened anyway. If I had no friends i would be loaded.
Bake off then bed for now. xxx2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

Your still here updating your spends and analysing it all so your still moving in the right direction don't worry.
With the Ramble fund is it in an account you can transfer money online easily? If so I wouldn't bother with a card and pin it will make it less accessible. I just transfer over if and when it's needed. Xemergency fund:£179/ £1000 Uniform/car fund:£
