  • Thank you both. I am just so frightened and so stupid.

The food shop at the start of the year helped. I am a natural hoarder and trying to turn over everything in the kitchen cupboards although easier said than done.
Stocked up on cleaning products and essential toiletries.
Not going out in the evenings.
Only bought a jumper this year. Very much loved and appreciated.

Eating a bit more than normal and scales are telling me! But it makes me feel a bit more centred and helping temporarily.

Also- I'm not sure if I'm alone in this but I think last year i bought a lot of aspirational foods like healthy things and leaves and that sort of thing but actually once I'm home I would forget to eat them or find them really unappealing and this year I am trying to buy things that I will actually eat in real life.

    And I'm reading my book.
And not looking at clothes or going shopping. Banned myself from very.

Well done! Your posts are very different and you seem to be much more money savvy this year!

    NSD are the best!
  • Thank you Louby. Not an NSD today and won't be tommorow.

Spent £9.10 food shopping in Lidl
    Milk
    Bread
    Apples
    Cheese
    Peppers
    Poppadoms

Most of this is not for immediate use but I think I will need to go back tommorow. Do need a few more bits.
Plus meeting a friend for coffee and cake tommorow lunch. Defiantly not in the plans but was asked and will go. Was trying to keep social just to weekends but it shouldn't be too expensive and won't involve alcohol.

9 days to payday. It is long.

3 credit cards expire 0% deals at the end of the year. The one with balance at £2,400 will go to 30% Interest so need to find a new home for that around August but I have another one expiring not long after so not sure how easy it will be to manage the 2 - or the 3.

But for the moment it is 0% so not immediate but deals available to me are short term So hoping I will be able to get these sorted when I need to.

  • Not an NSD.
Spent £4 on food shopping coke, bread, carrots, Handwash.

    And £5 on household essentials.
And £5 on coffee and cake.
And £3 on charity shop books.

Need to have a quieter day tommorow. 8 days to payday.

  • Not too bad PSL.

    What books did you get?

Love the charity shop for books.

  • I've got the wolf of Wall Street book.
And one by an American writer called Ann Tyler, she wrote the amateur marriage which is very good
And one by the lady who wrote the Ukrainian tractors and 2 caravans.
    And birdsong by Sebastian Fawkes.

I am so very slow. That is probably me till June but I do want to read the true autobiography book which inspired orange is the new black. I read the lady in real life married the boyfriend she had when she went in to prison but I thought her book would be worth a read. Not expecting to find that in the charity shop tho.

I've barely bought anything this year and only seen my best friends and family socially. It feels quite nice to ditch the London madness if only temporarily. Only doing things at the weekends suits me a lot better. Things tend to be quieter social-wise in London but I'm planning on carrying on this pattern long-term.

Late to bed and it's very windy here. xxx
