They're just symbols of love - not a demonstration of love. That should happen every day, and costs far-far-far more than any ring could cost.[/quote]
I was given mine for our 20th anniversary 3 years ago...we're not together now....(see above)0 -

sorry to hijack a thread but i need some ring buying advice. I used a H Samual ring guide to measure my partners ring size and its says S but on a website a ring i wanted to get is in sizes K-R, is S a particulaly large size or am i just measuring wrong
my OH's wedding ring is size S - not sure from your post if your OH is male or female?
I think K-R is usually "women's sizing" (my wedding ring is K).
Sometimes you can order in other sizes - depending on the jeweller.Newlywed at the point I joined the forum... now newly separated0 -
she is female, i dont want her to know what im getting though0

Can't you take an imprint of one of her rings?
You could do it on some soap or something.
Or, if you still have the invoice for the engagement/wedding ring, the size might be on there.0 -
from someone at work who got lucky when his girlfriend had a ring in her pocket, and a 5 pence piece got stuck in it- he knew what size her finger was then- whatever siez the 5p piece fitted!
so if your OH has a ring for her ring finger she keeps in her jewellery box it would be easy to see if this little trick would work on her too. It meant the guy was able to get down on bended knee with a ring that fitted.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

S is big for a female. I suffer with swollen knuckles in the morning and still only need a Q. If you are going for a very thick band ring you may need to go up a size.
H Samuel should exchange or offer free ring sizing. Check before you buy. Else try one of her rings on your fingers, probably little finger is best and see how it fits to gauge a size.

It was our silver wedding anniversary in May. As we got married in a bit of a rush and I was 7 months' pregnant at the time, rings weren't a big feature at the time!
I wear much more silver jewellery now, so I had a platinum (silver-coloured, see?) trilogy ring as my eternity ring, and a matching wedding band. I love them and I'm not sorry to have waited.0 -
does your kitchen knife 'sharpening steel' have a taper on it- that's what the ring sizers in jewellers always remind me of. Might look a bit strange walking into a jeweller's with something from the kitchen utensil drawer, though.:pMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

1st anniversary here too & it was hard to keep it a secret, I had to use the ring sizer when she was asleep or she'd have guessed what I was up to.Winnings
