Hi all. Just had a phone call from 01933 806132 asking to talk about my loan application. I haven't applied for a loan, but they were insistent that I had and for the sum of £350. They said they had been passed my details from another company that I'd applied with but they hung up when I started asking more questions.
I've never received a call like this before and after checking the number I can't see that it's a typical nuisance caller. 01933 is also my area code (Wellingborough).
I'm a bit concerned someone has applied for something in my name. Any ideas or advice on what I should do would be much appreciated.

You did right not to give them any details, this could be a prank call or someone trying to getting information from you to use in the future.
I would monitor your CRs with all three CRAs and check if a search has been done.
Check Call Credit via Noddle
Check Equifax via Clearscore
