Terrible company, feel totally ripped off! ....Here’s the short version! Hour late pick up, £128 service and MOT ended up as £251. They spoke to my partner very late in the day (half hour before the car was due back) and said it passed MOT but needed etc etc.. the guy mentioned the costs and said an invoice would be sent online to pay...but my partner was under absolutely NO impression that he was actually 'authorising' a brake fluid change or a 'fuel treatment'!!! He just said OK as he thought it had already been done and that they had spoken to me (it’s my car & I booked the service!!!!). After getting no joy from a very rude man (Josh) at servicing stop and being told 'well nobody is happy about paying money out on their car!' I finally had to pay the bill so the garage would release my car which I eventually got back an hour after it was due which meant my partner had to take my daughter to work with him.....All in all very upsetting and I feel very cheated, I was just going to get a £40 MOT but got lured in with a half price service and now I am overdrawn! Just lucky I had Etyres fit two new tyres at my work the day before or that would have probably been another £200+ on the bill. Oh... and incidentally my service book wasn't stamped either! ALSO BEWARE when viewing the final bill they ADD £25 as a pre-payment for your NEXT SERVICE, you have to uncheck the boxes to remove the extra £25. Although advertised as winner of Dragon’s Den, Deborah Meaden pulled out and wants nothing to do with this companys..see her tweets.. BEWARE.

  • Seems like a growing trend, as my Audi was over 3 years I decided to move away from main dealer service and surfed the website seeking a reputable garage. I found Servicingstop.co.uk who had a 50% disciount on their full serice which came out at 125.57. I thought this sounds reasonable and reading the few reviews on their website booked online. I was sent a confirmation with the addrress of the garage that was to collect, only for this to be changed nearer the time. That was the easy bit. On the day of the service the car was collected as arranged and taken away. Less than an hour later I receive a call whilst I'm engaged at work and the garage told me that the service would now cost 550.00. To say the least I was aghast and told him that I'd never before paid more than 350.00 for same and the list of extras he was telling me needed to be done seemed excessive. Anyway to cut a long story short I ended up paying 485.00 which I felt was still way too excessive but seeing as I'd been told that my car was on hhis ramp I felt like a hostage so reluctantly paid up. Since then I've emailed Servicing stop and after chasing them up on the phone entered into correspondence with a girl called Tezra who to put it mildly is not very good and appears to have been stringing me along and not wanting to enter into any meaningful discussion about reimbursement or goodwill gestures even though I've sent them quotes from Audi dealers showing that their service charge even at their reduced price was wildly excessive and of which some of the work carried out was deemed unnecessary. I am currently still pursuing them alongside seeking further redress against them from elsewhere. Anyone else had similar problems with them of late?

the whole business is set up for people whose time = money and will pay for someone to take their car off their hands and get it done. As such they know they can really fleece you. Serivicng stop probably see pound signs above every single customer name on their database.

It's best avoided. Btw.. no company would ever let you take out a hire car without signing what the condition of the car is beforehand. But when companies are in receipt of your car they never bother with this at all. British consumers are mugs.

Deborah meadon probably dodged a bullet there, imagine the negative pr she would have got for the work of these shysters had she invested in them.

It also seems that anyone who uses them are also too time poor for grammar and punctuation.

Uses who? Granma an punktwation? what about pore speeling?

I wouldnt trust some unknown garage that collect why car and whisk it away to god knows where, or someone that needs to drum up business by spamming a forum and then giving me abuse when i mark their posts as spam and claim that i am advertising and they are not spanners. I said they must be a tool and they reported me :)

Seems they are no longer active, all posts gone.

I may give them a call later though.

hm i always find these posts interesting, i have personally used service stop at least three times over the past few years, but have always known their cheap service prices are loss leaders to get the more pricey extra work, but when ever they have contacted me about the extra work they have never had a problem with me rejecting the extra work, and me just paying for the cheap service.

I then just take it to a local garage to get the actual work done at a much lower cost. simple really

so basically I use service stop in the same way i do with MOT's, i take to a MOT only garage to highlight areas that need work, and if further work is needed i get quotes to get it sorted from my local garages
