Can anyone get through to BT?

I placed an order on the 3rd Sept with an installation date of the 11th Sept.
Took the afternoon off work - no engineers.
Rang them and got told it would now be the 18th.
Rang back a day or two later to check things were still on for the 18th and told that Openworld had "Failed " the order.
Spent 2 hours placing a new order with an installation date of 1st OCTOBER and today have been told that that order has failed.
NO ONE phones me back
I have spent hours on the phone trying to get sense out of them.
BY the 29th of September I will have no phone or broadband service - as our Virgin contract will expire then.
For a communications company they need to learn to communicate with their customers.
I have spent 4 hours on the phone to them today - and got nowhere.
They make talk talk look professional0 -
I eventually gave up trying to call them and sent an email instead. No response within two days, so sent another email. Got a reply from that saying they had lost my original email. Sent it again, so far, nothing apart from automatic reply.
All I want them to do is bring forward the connection (we already have a line we don't use). How hard can that be?????????0 -
same here again, my line was due to get activated on sept 1, no signs yet. Tried BT several times over phone & email. no luck so far!
I thought talk talk is horrible, but in my experience at least we can talk to a human within 30 minutes.0 -
I have had to place yet another order yesterday - our contract with Virgin expires on the 1st October - and BT gave me an installation date of 8th Oct.
When I mentioned that my 75 y/o mother would be with out phone service for a week - I was told to pay Virgin another months subs or do without.
Now thats what I call customer service.
I have phone them this morning to see if anything can be done to speed up the process and was told that part of the new order placed yesterday has failed.
BT claim that Virgin has a data freeze on and cannot port numbers - Virgin tell me that our number is not affected by the data freeze and could be released - BT has not placed a number port request.
WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH?
No-one at BT will take responsibility or deal with the problem. I have been on the phone for over 2 1/2 hours so far this morning.0 -
Order now sent to the Provisioning team - whoever they may be and a promise that they will get back in touch in a couple of days.
What a farce.
This company could not organise a pee up in a brewery.0 -

Have given up on call centre staff and rang BT group HQ.
Have spoken to a chap called Trevor in the Chairmans complaint office and he has promised to phone me back in an hour.
I wait with baited breath and legs akimbo.

Installation on Friday morning this week.
Success.
Trevor is a hero.
If anyone has a similar problem I reccomend that you phone head office on the number in an above post.

This is very funny because I am still at this very moment trying to get through to BT.
An engineer was arrange to come around tomorrow about a month ago.
and today I phone BT to find out whether it was for the morning or afternoon schedule. I was told that the installation time was cancelled and they have no idea who cancelled it. Since 4pm today I have been on the phone and its now 18:21 and counting, and still I can't get hold of the appropriate person to rectify.  :mad:Asda card - £220, Halifax Card- £2200
Halifax Loan - £3300, Capital Card - £500
Total owing = £6220
Debt Free on 01/10/2008 :j0 -
I've made 10 calls in the last two days, been cut off twice, spoken to 25 people (since I started counting on call 3) and still no phone.
Best advice so far:
One of my questions was 'Please can you tell me what is my phone number because the number you gave me last time is a digit short?'
Answer: 'Do you have a mobile phone madam? [yes] If you dial your number on there, you will be able to see what your number is on the screen'
