TAG Watch Repair Cost - SCAM

As it was bought in Switzerland, your legal rights will be whatever Swiss law gives you as a consumer against the retailer.
SoGA will be of no use to you but Swiss law may have something similar. You'd need to research it or go on a Swiss equivalent of this forum (if there is one).
It may well be cheaper to get it sent to an independant repairer as stated above.0 -

Regardless of any countries consumer laws, any mechanical device (or electro mechanical device in this case) that requires regular servicing will not keep functioning if the user fails to keep it serviced so they have no claim against the retailer. In this case paying for a service will get the thing fixed so that is what they need to do.
If the OP does not want to keep doing this every 3-5 years then he should sell it as soon as he gets it back, even though depreciation will be pretty steep.0 -

I haven't looked into it, but I imagine it would depend on whether TAG say it MUST be serviced every x years to keep it working, or just they they recommend it should be for optimum performance.
As part of their warranty terms, they may say it MUST be serviced, but (in this country at least) as a warranty is in addition to your legal rights, they can impose terms as they see fit.
I know nothing about Swiss law though, but if the OP wants to go down that root they need to do some serious research into it first, as it's doubtful (m)any people on this forum have an in depth knowledge and it could be vastly different to the UK.0 -
It's only stupid if you can't really afford it, some people spend that amount of fags a year, now that really is stupid.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

If the OP can afford it then as long as, for example, they don't have children that go without food so the OP can have a nice watch, I don't see a problem. Each to their own.0

OP can afford to have it repaired in that case. OP, just get it repaired as its only £377 for a repair, you will get a good 12 Months guarantee, before worrying about paying such a low amount for a secondary repair.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Do you not think that £1990 of that £2k could have gone towards funding charity groups who help people who suffer from nicotine addiction? I'm sure the £10 surplus could have gone towards a watch which was capable of telling the time...
Some people may spend that much on fags each YEAR, but they don't spend that much ON ONE TRANSACTION! 2k divided by 12 months is £167 which MOST working people have in surplus each month (but don't necessarily have a 2k line of credit)! The watch is an impulse buy! Either due to OP being rich (in which case why did they not automatically pay the £377 repair bill for a 3-4 year old item?) or they have a fat credit line (fake "rich person"). It could also be a wedding (etc) purchase, but I'm not really buying that given the brand.
If op is genuinely rich then they should be giving money to charities. Maybe they should donate money to charities who help nicotine addicts, as per your post. Or should we "keep pedalling" 2k watches while people die of lung cancer in the UK?0
