Really can't understand why anybody would vote Remain, not been many empires that haven't want to expand their territory over the course of history.

Even if you want to stay by voting Leave the UK will get a better deal than the one Cameron came back with, useless tool that he is.

And thus speaks someone who isnt invested. doesnt own a home, doesnt have a pension, doesnt have savings and investments?

Almost all the 'experts' were mesmerised by the pre-2008 boom, in thrall to the banks, Fred Goodwin got his gong, all was rosy. Then reality intruded. Ouch! Whether or not Brexit is the best option remains to be seen, but just because almost all 'experts' agree don't make it right.

And of course when Thatcher started her economic reforms, almost all renowned UK economists signed a letter saying it would lead to doom. It didn't. In fact her reforms are much admired around the world, and the EU is currently trying to reform Italy with similar ideas e.g. removing restrictive working practices.

By the way, I own a home, have pensions and investments, and I am pro-Brexit. All this nonsense about 1 million jobs lost, companies fleeing the UK, zombies in the streets, is hyperbole. It has to be since economic forecasts are renowned for being inaccurate, often completely so.

If you think that the Uk is the only country with a large portion of its population wanting to exit the EU, then look further than the end of your nose. The Austrian president won a recent election by0 .5% the oposition party is against Eu membership. Germany has a large portion of its population who want an alternative to the Eu and the party is gaining ground.. The only countries that want us to stay are the ones who receive all the handouts, the rest want us to stay because they would have to pay out more cash if we left. Russia would welcome us with open arms and trade deals if we quit the EU. Most politicians want us to stay because the Eu is a retirement home for has been politicians.

Any way leaving is a win win situation if we leave and our economy flourishes we win. If we leave and we fail then our economy will be so poor that we can rejoin and receive all the handouts. Some prat posted that the Eu had given us paid leave . We had that long before the Eu.

I guess you didn't think it worthwhile to find out what people might *actually* think by asking them the same neutral question we'll be asked on referendum day, but had to instead instantly make it a loaded question with the tone of your first post in the thread :D

So, aside from the fact that the poll only gets answered by the type of person who has time to spend fannying about on MSE savings board and the morbid curiosity to click on it to get to the results, well done for fostering an environment that only appeals to a certain mindset... I doubt there will be much clamour to get the results included in any of the major poll-of-polls!

    But, as you say, cheers!

Congratulations, 100% wrong on your inferences (with the exception of hating that useless halfwit Cameron), an untrained chimp would have undoubtedly done better. I think you'll find there are supporters of all the main parties on both sides of the debate.

Returned sovereignty worth far more to me than a possible small short term blip to the economy. We would cope fine without the millstone of the EU round our necks. Still I fear we won't know for a while, too many mugs seem to be falling for the drivel trotted out by Dave & Gidiot.

Do you really think a vote for Leave would be the end of this, they'd be phoning us everyday crawling to get us back in to the Club, ask the Norwegians.

I am "invested", I own a home, I have a pension and have savings. I also -- rightly or wrongly -- voted Tory last time around.

But my personal finances and current voting preference are nothing to do with why I am voting to Leave the European Union.

I love Europe. I actually live and work outside the UK in mainland Europe, and most of my friends these days are non-British. I spend my holidays and weekends travelling Europe and celebrating all the great things it has to offer.

But loving Europe is not the same as loving the EU. I've been a passionate EU supporter in the past but in recent years I've started to despair at way it works.

Around 150 nations on this earth are not members of the EU, and most get along just fine -- as indeed did we up until 1973.

The UK is the 5th biggest economy in the world. Let's remain great pals with our European neighbours, and let's allow anyone to come and live in the UK if they have skills to offer that we need. But we've played the role of reluctant passenger for too long now. Time for some self-confidence and the chance to move out of the EU shadow.

Well said, couldn't have put it better myself.
