@tlcgrantham I moved over to Tracker on 17th June so my bill only covered 11 days. Use was 6.7kWh, so quite small amounts for me too and Octopus did a daily summary.

Wondering if Dolor has never scrolled down to the bottom of the bill to see it, as it appears after all the Octopus contact blurb.

Back to smart / non-smart meters the evidence seems to be that with the former the monthly invoice is calculated according to a weighted average (the "weights" being each day's consumption) whereas the latter is based on just a simple daily average. But the evidence as quoted does not seem to be unanimous.
Question: If you are metering Tracker gas on a smart meter, is there the "Explore my Energy Use" link on the web site as offered for Go Faster electricity?

If you have Tracker with smart meters then you’ll pay for exactly what you use each day at that day’s price.

If you allow Octopus to read half-hourly data from your meters you’ll always be able to see your usage via the “Explore…” link, regardless of tariff.

Those who were previously on Go Faster 20:30 timeslot and have been able to renew on that timeslot could you let me know how? Or share with me the correspondence where Octopus confirmed you'd be allowed to remain on it? They're trying to fob me off now saying a tariff for the 20:30 slot doesn't exist anymore, but I know many of you have mentioned you've been allowed to remain on it. Thanks!

This, and a few of the other options, were discontinued when a new version of the tariff was released. Some of us were able to roll over on the same terms because Octopus had an issue whereby they couldn't send out end of tariff information in a timely manner, so were not able to make a change for regulatory reasons. The key was to keep quiet and hope for the best. I don't know whether the system issue has now been fixed or not, but drawing attention to the fact you are coming to the end of your tariff is not the way to play it.

When you say they were unable to produce end of tariff information in a timely manner, what information is this and how soon are they supposed to provide it?

I've enquired informally that I'd received an invite email to continue on the tariff but it made no reference to what timings this would be on, when I asked if it'd remain on the 20:30 slot that we're already on they advised they'd need to check with the smart meter team. They then came back and said it'd be on the 21:30 slot.

They weren't sending out those invite emails. I didn't receive one at all. So it seems they have now closed that particular loophole.
The way it is supposed to work is that you respond to the invite email and they then make you an offer as close to what you had before as possible (as there is never a guarantee you can get a particular timeslot, each is subject to availability). You can then choose to accept the offer, or move to a different tariff. There is no obligation on you by merely applying to renew. If you receive an invite email and fail to act on it, I think you'll probably end up on Flexible, as part of it is a check that you are still eligible for Go Faster.

Has been fixed now, in what should be rare event renewal is not sent out with reasonable notice they are now only offering 1 month extra on existing rates as opposed to as it was when you renewed 12 months extra on existing rates.

That door has closed, you've had the renewal email so they are not going to renew you on the now defunct 20:30 slot.
You can request 21:30 though which is the next best thing.

Cheers for explaining masonic, much appreciated.  Shame they got rid of the 20:30 slot as we'd managed to shift 2/3 of our usage to the first hour alone, but I suppose that's the nature of the beast with these time of use tariffs, eventually there'll become a new "heavy" usage period, so on so forth, and the goal posts will be moved again and again.

I'll have a look at our usage more closely and see if we'd still benefit from the 21:30 slot, if not I'll take a gander at agile to see if we'd be better off on there.  Thanks all!
