It's not unusual for electricity readings to be held. This happened a few times to me before I had smart meters fitted.SJMALBA said:QrizB said:
Checks need people, and people mostly work Mon-Fri. I've had bills held over the weekend until the following week several times.SJMALBA said:Ordinarily, when I submit my meter readings, electricity is applied instantly, but gas is held pending review/checks; strangely, this month, both were held, with gas being applied the next day, but electricity is still held, 2 days after submission, so I still haven't received the bill.Something to do with me now being on Tracker, or is it because of a 23% reduction in my electricity usage compared to June 2021... or a problem with Ocotopus' system?
FWIW, as mentioned, electricity has never been held before, and having been with Octopus since 2020, i don't recall any previous weekend delays?Perhaps they don't want me to pay this month? 😂1 -

Unique experience for me. 😀

I've had it with a number of different suppliers. My usage can vary a lot. It is only a big problem when it happens for a change of supplier reading. That has happened to me twice and caused the new supplier to be unable to bill me for months.SJMALBA said:

OK. Thanks guys/gals. It's the first time it's happened to me, as far as I know.

Consumerist said:I have just submitted my meter readings to Octopus and the dashboard updated to their version of my balance. It doesn't seem to have included the gas charges for the month but only the electricity usage has been charged.Anyone else having problems with Octopus Dashboard?

Does anybody know whether Octopus allows 'pay as you go' / pay on a bill basis. I'm on a flexible tariff now but they keep charging me a fixed monthly amount. Funny thing is that I have been on credit for over a year and know that I am about to run out of it they want to double the fee ("recommend" but they are doing it in any case).
I seem to remember that British Gas charged us on a bill basis.
thanks,0 -

Did you know that if your on smart tariff Octopus Go Faster, meter readings are not included on your statement.Meaning you can't check your meter corresponds with the bill. The operations manager at octopus told me that.

Yes, but if you download the Octopus app you can see the readings for the start and end of the period that you've been charged for. It's down at the bottom of the Usage tab - "View meter reading history".Jonty6262 said:Did you know that if your on smart tariff Octopus Go Faster, meter readings are not included on your statement.Meaning you can't check your meter corresponds with the bill.
