I only managed 25% but as I only started 3/4 of the way in, I have higher hopes for next time round. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
Can't say that what I understand of what I read above turns me on to follow suit - be it dark energy that I don't use or what comes out of the light bulb that I do. But 20 p may tip the balance and convert me yet.Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
Some of us have twigged for sometime, tariffs with exit fees can be cheaper for some people even if they change within term and pay exit fees, Octopus Energy have a 36 month tariff available ( not on current tariff list) with exit fees

I didn’t sign up for the winter workout (or whatever it’s called) but I did win £1 on the wheel of fortune for the second time in the past year. Probably more than I’d have have received from load-shifting, anyway…0

I used 94% less electric in the 2 hour period mainly due to the daughter not doing her weekly cleaning for me due to her having C-19 after taking a test. In the day my usage is around 11 kWh and in the 2 hour period around 3 to 3.5 kWh due to the dryer being on drying bedding.QrizB said:QrizB said:
I've got the same offer/challenge. Should be fairly easy; Mrs QrizB and the Experiments are going away for the weekendmasonic said:Looks like the first turn down event is in for me, tomorrow 4:30-6:30pm, reduction of 40% meaning I could get up to 20p of energy free if I can nudge my usage right up to the limit. Good job I'm only doing it for the challenge! It seems a bit silly that I have to ensure that I use as much energy as possible within the limit for the best outcome. I could easily use a lot less than my target, which would be better for the cause.Received the email from Octopus today telling me how well I've done. I did well enough that my residual usage was essentially zero
so I wasn't expecting to get much credit.Turns out they've decided that everyone who hits their target will get a minimum of 20p credit, so there's 20p coming my way sometime soon. Also, they offered a change to the incentive; you can choose to be paid for the energy you *don't* use, rather than for the remaining energy that you do use. I've switched to that incentive for the next Big Dirty Turn Down.Someone please tell me what money is0 -
