I'm getting 16.7 p / kwh and 18.73 / day according to "All our tariffs".
I wonder if the glitches will be corrected retrospectively.
No doubt the glitches when the bill comes will have been corrected. Worth having a look though!

Absolutely, if you don't want to risk a different supplier, and you don't want to go on a smart tariff, then you are on the cheapest deal that fits your criteria. It only compares unfavourably to those who will do the things you won't.
Every supplier lets down some of its customers, even Octopus. If you read their Twitter feed, you'll see regular complaints, some that have dragged on for months. Of course the vast majority of customers have no problems. I'd say Octopus is no better than average in phone and email support, but that's mitigated by a very good social media team. Growing pains no doubt, as their reputation was better.
I would agree that Octopus' service record with emails has not been one of their strongest selling points for quite some time. Is Twitter now the (un)official channel of preference for 2-way communications?  I have never "got into" Twitter up to now. I believe somewhere in this thread someone revealed the "path" and methodology to get to Octopus direct via Twitter. Appreciate if this could be repeated for dummies like me.

Check page 101 onwards. I’ve never used Twitter but several posters helpfully “talked” me through it.
. I was able to join Twitter and arrange a smart meter to be fitted quickly by sending a direct message to Octopus which they promptly replied to.
Go Faster seems the cheapest tariff at the moment but I want to be able change tariffs to Agile if it becomes cheaper again.

How long do Octopus take to connect to your smart meter after your start date?

Plus does this mean I have the newer type of meter?

    Meter type:
    Smart (SMETS2)

    EDMI ES-10A ES01####

Yes, you have a SMETS2 meter as the rollout of SMETS1 meters stopped well over a year ago. Your meter will already be connected to the DCC; however, no supplier can access your meter until the appropriate security certificates have been sent out via the DCC and industry databases etc have been updated. Once these have been completed, then Octopus will be able to pull data once a day from your smart meter. Reports suggest that this set up process might take up to 10 days. Thereafter, if you want to move to a ToU tariff, Octopus has to set up and confirm that 30 minute usage data is being received via its Adaptor TMA/CGI.

Accounts: To date I have had no complaint with the Octopus accounts system.  I can check the calculations and follow the monthly balance and top-up the account to maintain a zero balance once a month. I can myself adjust the D/D on line if necessary. All this without a smart meter. Reading some of the horror stories in the Avro, Neon Reef etc threads I wonder if this facility is "unique" rather than "normal", and something that Octopus ought to be given more credit for. It is just the communications (email), lack of, that let the side down.

Its not unique to octopus. I was certainly able to do all those things with british gas too. There are lots of companies whose online accounts are very basic though.

It's a similar story with Bulb and ScottishPower. The last company I was with that didn't have that facility was Yorkshire Energy, but they are no more.
