Well done!! Told you that would work. Email the smart email once the meter has been changed and you'll get the go faster form forwarded to you. I doubt go prices will increase at the mo. They kept it last time for a few yrs despite raising prices.tlcgrantham said:Thanks guys! As a technophobe I really appreciate your help. it looks like I did manage to sign up for Go as it appears on my dashboard this morning.
I am very pleased with Octopus too as they have kept me well informed all through the switch and booking a smart meter. (As long as they don’t increase Go tariffs again before I get my smart meter)1 -
Currently Go Faster seems the best option for me. In my region( East Midlands) Go kw rates are max rate 15.33p. and cheap rate 5p Tracker and Agile averaging over 16p0

Tracker latest: Either there has been a mistake, or it's the once-a-month wonder carrot tempter, but Tracker leccy has nosedived to 12.6 p/kwh {+ 18.73 / day} today which knocks spots off the (flat rate) competition. If only it would last ...Someone might like to check the facts.Telegraph Sam

There's clearly been a mistake because the wholesale rate is nearer twice what they have stated for today in the tracker applet.Telegraph_Sam said:Tracker latest: Either there has been a mistake, or it's the once-a-month wonder carrot tempter, but Tracker leccy has nosedived to 12.6 p/kwh {+ 18.73 / day} today which knocks spots off the (flat rate) competition. I don't use the App myself but online the wholesale price here is shown as 4.05p compared with 7 p + in the recent past. The relative differentials are not impossible to believe.(the retail unit rate has been around 16p + / kwh recently)Telegraph Sam

Like I say, it's wrong. Today's wholesale price is 7.13p in my region.Telegraph_Sam said:I don't use the App myself but online the wholesale price here is shown as 4.05p compared with 7 p + in the recent past. Yet on the individual "video" leccy screen (I forget how to copy it) it is clearly showing 12.6 p and 4.05 wholesale for here

Sam, that screen doesn't always get updated properly, its probably still stuck on their "projection" for today, which is always that low.
As has already been said, the wholesale prices have infact gone up today compared to yesterday and are staying the same tomorrow. (7.31p today and 7.41p tomorrow)
https://www.nordpoolgroup.com/Market-data1/GB/Auction-prices/UK/Daily/?view=table
so its 16.69p today in your area and 16.73p tomorrow as your electricity rate, so not that competitive compared to the cheapest flat rates.
Sorry to burst your bubble of optimism.
