You too might want to pay a visit to an optician; the OP has stated that he or she has already tried to download the driver from the website but the download process fails:
"it starts the download then blocks with the message as above ie you don't have.......ar81 installed on this machine."

Your stupid post is unhelpful and simply shows that you obviously do not understand how to download a file yourself.

I checked the link before posting, by downloaded this driver file and I therefore know that I could transfer the driver file via a USB drive to the machine that requires it to be installed on. The OP is obviously not simply downloading the file but trying to also run the executable file.

Rubicon, you are probably right, it's simply outside my expertise, hence the questions.

    To all, no arguments please
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

I think that you must be doing something wrong as that link downloads the driver (4972KB) onto my machine and I do not have an AR81 controller installed.

When downloading a file it does not check what is on your machine.

I can only state to you what it puts up on my screen??
I have tried all 3/4 links that folks have posted, same end result.
That leaves me at the limit of my computer abilities:beer:

    Read this article here

You simply need to SAVE the driver file not RUN the driver file. Once saved you can transfer the file across to your other halfs computer and then RUN the file to install the missing driver.

OK fine but it sounds like there is something amiss with your PC then.

If you want to download this driver to make friends with her indoors again, then try using an alternative browser.

Running the installer on your machine would not be a problem if you want to actually install an alternative browser.

Well I got it done, but she hadn't done a system restore before so on Lenovo's advice I had to restore to factory default. That was suggested here but I didn't want the hassle of saving all data unless I had to.

Now all sorted, remind not not to faff about with stuff I dodn't fully understand, ('er indoors already has):D

Don't worry, it's a lesson we have either all learnt the hard way, or are still yet to learn ;-)
