Was the £506 figure from a housing officer - they may be out of date on HB restrictions for under 35's.

No he lives alone the past 5 weeks, so shouldn't say that?

    I looked up the LHA....
    shared room £69.04
    £116.54 for one room

if he lives alone and you claim carers allowance for looking after him, then he shouldn't be receiving the severe disability premium.

his LHA rate adds up to £466 ish every 4 weeks, so obviously a different LHA rate from your council

Could it be from when he lived st at home due to another family member recieving low mobility allowance due to a heart condition? That's all I can think of?

What is the severe disability premium and how is it paid?

no it couldn't be paid because someone else gets low rate mobility.

any?all other people living in the same property would have needed either PIP care ( either rate) or mid.high rate DLA care.

it is paid in with ESA, and the letter you posted clearly states 'severe disability premium'

you really need to sort this out as a matter of urgency because it will be an overpayment from the time you started receiving carers allowance and he was claiming ESA

When did you start claiming carer's allowance for him?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I'm just going to check his ESA payment and his dla payment to see if it mentions severe
