No, they asked something else, which we sent and everything was fine and they said "offer to be issued withing 2-3 days" and now asking again. That's why probably our broker wants to speak with their manager.

What initial assessment means really? And what they usually do after?

  • We had the initial assesment where all the 'usual' documents were assessed, bank statements etc.

The we had a valuation and on the same day the asked for 'further' documents (stuff that was a bit more obscure).

Then the MB said 'they should be satisfied by next Friday'

So it's similar...we had initial check on 28th of april, then received letter regarding this and after requested few more statements, after this they said everything is fine, valuation is done and is ok and offer will be sent in 2-3 days. That was this Monday. And today they are asking fpr something else. Annoying really, as they review documents only after 5 days time of reeiving it.

Had a message from the Broker, Success! Sense has prevailed!

'[FONT=&quot]The proof of address points were removed and the case was passed for offer. I was told it would be looked at hopefully this afternoon but tomorrow at the latest'

thank f......... using a broker is definitely the way to go with these things, I haven't been this stressed since my wife applied for her settlement visa.

I'm going to start requesting paper copies of everything, so much for helping the environment and stuff.

Did the offer actually come through?

It's all Anti money laundering checks that have to be done. Your bank will send you duplicate statements to your home address, if they get rubbish ask for all statements over last 6 years and send them a data request and £10 cheque. I requested the same before and was supplied it by the bank. Under DPA rules they have to do that as long as you say it's a data request and send £10.

Trust me when I was an underwriter I had asked for much more.

Another issue maybe if she is showing on a voters roll or credit at another address that's another reason they want proof of address.
