If you make a habit of leaving headphones around I'd suggest a more basic set well below the £100 mark.

Sennhieser are more than decent, and you'd get a basic pair of thiers from about £20.00.

In terms of the cost of headphones, I want a decent pair. Cost not really an issue - £100-£150 is a small amount to be fair. Still annoying to have to replace them though but I can afford to do so. Would rather pay £150 on a decent pair than £20-£30 on crap ones I dont like.
;70653928]Thanks for the advice.

But please !!!!!! lets all drop this having a go thing. Its getting a bit childish and people seem to be making things up as they go along.

Everyone else (not you Robin) - if you've got a comment about what I originally posted and now, recommendations fair enough.

Wouldn't being pedantic why the f would you pay £100+ for a pair of headphones and leave them hanging around ? I own a pair of AKG headphones in the £70 bracket (not a hi-fi wakner, but working on it ;) ). They don't leave the house.

I won't use high end headphones out and about , I keep a cheap pair in my bag, I also won't buy expensive sunglasses (current pair £1 from a car boot) for the same reason.

Small high value items can easily get lost. And folk do lose them. All the time. It's happened to me hombre, lesson was learned.

Well I didnt leave them lying around on purpose! I am generally very good at looking after things.

They were on my head, I took them off to untangle my bag to open my hotel room. Must have accidentally dropped them as I opened door and lugged stuff in. I dont know how!

I dont listen to music at home. They are purely for use during my commute mainly. Normally when I'm not on the train, I keep them in my Porsche ;-)

Honestly I do not think you can start threads called "Why are people so thick" and then expect not to be judged yourself.

Be the change you want to see. Offer helpful advice instead of simply asking questions of others all the time, and generally having a rant.

I do not expect you will take this unsolicited advice. I do worry that you spend so much time being angry. Look for kindness, show kindness - I find it usually comes back to you.

What expertise do you have that you could share with others on the boards?

    Fair point. Decent post....

My issues is that there are a lot of people on this forum who do the exact opposite. They are not here to offer helpful advice, they are here to criticise, start an argument for whatever reason. In fact, I'm sure people troll the forums looking for things they can disagree with and have a dig at someone.

You can guarantee that if someone posts that "X has happened, what can I do about it?" you will get a few decent replies.

But you'll also get "Why did you let X happen, you're stupid", "Well I do it this way you shouldn't have done that", "In your first post, you mentioned X and now its Y - are you lying?, "Why are you always moaning?, "You should have done this last time when Z happened (post from 6 months ago". Tell me I'm wrong.....

I might create a fictional problem later to demonstrate this. Something "accidental" where maybe something has been done wrong and ask for advice then watch the wolfpack descend.

Please don't take this the wrong way. If you only want advice about some headphones, just post on the Techie forum "anybody got any advice on headphones I could buy to replace my {insert name here} about a price of {insert price here}". Nobody needs to know why you need them.
;70653928] ...... people seem to be making things up as they go along.
Not sure where you get this idea from.

The original post was about whether it was worth calling police etc so the headphone request sort of followed on. MAybe I should have creatred new post as you say.

Making things up - a lot seem to have the impression that I lose things a lot. This is made up. We did have a cleaner who (in all probability) stole from us some time ago but thats not really relevant for this.

BUT if you can whip a turd into candy floss then people on this forum will do so it seems.
