I'm hungry now. I think I'll drive to Beachy Head and start a BBQ in the car for bacon butties.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

Plus, the engine is running and as there is no condensation inside the car you can assume the ventilation system is working as intended.
Well at least someone noticed that and wasn't just me.
Serious humour bypass by some people on ehre and if anyone is thick enough to actually bring a gas fired stove into their car whilst dangling on the edge of a cliff to have a sarnie instead of trying to get out, then maybe they deserve to die?Dont rock the boat

What the OP seems to not understand is that you will only die from Carbon Monoxide poisoning if you fall asleep. When you are awake the symptoms make it obvious that something is wrong and will make you get out the car immediately.
Also OP how do you feel about campervans such a VW T4's etc. Just think how many of them have a gas cooker installed in the back and have you ever heard of someone being exposed to carbon monoxide from cooking on one of them?.0 -
Mmmmmmmmm, bacon.
Thinking of the advert has made me want a bacon sarnie now.
(So clearly the advert works)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
When I first read this I thought what an odd thing to complain about. But the more I think about it I'm actually with the OP. Having this in a TV advert could be seen as normalising it. For instance, you are never going to think its a good idea to drive off a cliff, but you could think its okay to use a stove in a tent because your brain remembers seeing it done.

I'd bet the advert gets pulled anyway.0 -

But theyre not using it in a tent are they? That looks like a large estate car and probably bigger than the VW camper vans and other smaller camper vehicles which also have gas stoves in them.
So Ill ask you , what is the difference between a large car and a small camper van?Dont rock the boat

You can always have a bell fitted in the bathroom, so you can ring it for the night nurse to come round and wipe your botty!0

You are right and some people might take up their suggestion and cook in an unventilated car............................................................................................................... some people are therefore morons, and Darwin was right.0

Very did this last year with an ad for an 'indoor' summer. They had a paddling pool in the lounge, all in swimwear and a sizzling BBQ in there as well with a woman happily cooking burgers.
I did complain to the ASA who contacted Very. Very willingly edited the advert and it stopped being shown in that format within days of my complaint.
There are morons out there who would think it a great idea to BBQ in the car or have a BBQ in the lounge
This is the ad, BBQ was cut out at around 7 seconds:

If they're stupid enough to do it, they're probably not worth saving in the first place. Let them do what they want and they may even get a Darwin award.0
