Irresponsible tv advert for Danish Bacon (carbon monoxide)

I have not seen the advert but I do agree with the OP that it may well be dangerous in terms of the bbq, as I do think people may copy the idea.
I'm going to agree too, and I'm usually labelled as a "troll" by people on here!
Haven't seen the ad, but if it could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning then it is a bit irresponsible.
Sadly two things come to mind:
1. Only an idiot would use a gas bbq in a car with no ventilation. It is borderline unfathomable... Not least because people should understand that it is going to get very toasty in there!
2. By the time you complain and it goes through the channels, the ad will be saturated and the removal of it would have a minimal effect.0 -
and what about the mere cat jumping into his rolls Royce (flat battery) and attempting to drive off without his seatbelt!Save a Rachael

It's very bad.
It's dangerous
People might die
I want to complain but I can't because they ask me for too much information! GGMS.0 -
How many meerkats (no cat is mere) do you know who can drive?
:rotfl: But you're right, one should always wear a seat belt. I just hope Sergei or whoever it was was stopped and fined.
I agree about the bbq though why anyone would cook in a car at all is beyond me, unless they knew they were going to die falling off a cliff.0 -
but everyone knows you keep the butter in the boot and the bread in the fridge , if the car had a fridge in the boot , it would not go over the cliff , as the mains lead would stop this.
some people are so gullible.Save a Rachael

Well, it asks you for you name and address and email. It's not like they're asking for your inside leg measurement and sexual preferences. Putting aside the fact that you could (of course) put in any old bollox, why do you think anyone should take any notice of an anonymous complaint?

Don't be silly. You'd start feeling sick and dizzy, you'd have difficulty breathing. Those would be big foxin clues that something was wrong. You might be inclined to do something like, getting out of the car. Or, if you car happened to be tetering on a precipice at the time, at least winding down the window.whitegoods_engineer wrote: »....I'm just amazed that this made it onto television...
I suppose I should be amazed this has made it onto the internet. But I'm not, for some reason.whitegoods_engineer wrote: »....A year or two ago, a couple of people died on holiday in a tent doing a similar thing, although I think it was a barbecue they'd brought in and zipped it up.....
Yup. The Bucknell Tent Death. The victim was asleep. Three hours of exposure was fatal.

You would have to be very, very, very, very, very, very, stupid to sit in a car choking to death and not do anything about it. Some of us might argue that if you are that stupid, eliminating you from the gene pool was a Very Good Thing.

This is the ad. I totally agree with the OP -- it is irresponsible.

Don't people have bigger things to worry about rather than an advert with a sense of humour?
Plus, the engine is running and as there is no condensation inside the car you can assume the ventilation system is working as intended.0 -
