It comes up time and time again, low mileage is not always good.

A lot of owners ignore service intervals if they do low mileage, where the manual might say 12'000 or 12 months (as an example), these owners just see 12,000 mile and basically don't service the damn thing for 3/4/5 years. Short journeys are worse for a car than thrashing the nuts off it, a car in that situation needs more regular servicing NOT once every 12'000 miles.
I know but it matters to my wife and so it is very relevant to me.

    Is it this one?

My first thought was it sounds a bit expensive for a 7 year old car, but to be fair similar cars are in the same ball park elsewhere. They must hold their value quite well and main dealers are never going to be the cheapest anyway. Is the warranty backed by the dealer or is it an insurance based warranty from a 3rd party (often not worth the paper they are printed on).

The only negatives I see are the alloys look a bit scuffed and I'm not convinced of the added value of parking sensors on a car that tiny and easy to park in the first place.

There is no mention of service history, I assume it has a full history?

In our road, parking sensors would be a benefit.

That seems a lot for a 7 year old car, but then its from a toyota dealer. Their 12 month old cars are on the forecourt for more than a brand new one from drivethedeal etc.

PS, a daihatsu sirion is 90% a toyota yaris but will be half the price.

I wouldn't touch that car with a barge pole.
Look at the wheel trim they have pictures in the advert, scuffed all the way round, what are the others like? Looks like a low mileage car that has been treated like a white good.

Useful only to those who think a low mileage car is better than any other purely due to the mileage. There is also damage on the wheel arch evident in the picture of the scuffed wheel trim.

I would go for something like this.

Four years newer and the later model. Will still have two years Toyota Warranty left. And only £1599 more. Seems a no brainer.

Mileage means little on a well maintained vehicle and Toyotas are pretty reliable cars.
I agree the wheel in the picture looks a bit tatty but we don't know if all the wheels are scuffed, presumably OP has seen the car in the flesh and can judge the overall condition. This is precisely the kind of car that is treated as 'white goods' so I don't understand you point really. You don't buy a Yaris to keep as a garage queen future classic.

Normal wear and tear and parking dings are to be expected on a 7 year old car. OP could haggle for the wheel to be refurbished as part of the deal. The dealer would no doubt have contacts to a smart repairer of some kind that could deal with that very easily.

The one you link to is only £1599 more! That is a lot of money when OP was looking to spend £4500 originally. I don't know many people that have the ability to extend their original budget by a third.............. Not to mention the fact that it hasn't been serviced for 20k and looks like it is sitting on budget tyres, where as the OP's one had Michellins on which might suggest the previous owner is at least not so tight they resent spending an extra few quid on quality rubber.

    edit:
I don't know if the OP's preferred car has alloys or wheel trims? If they are just plastic trims then that is even easier to fix. And even if it is alloys I don't think scuffed alloys makes it a 'don't touch with a barge pole' car.

I wouldn't spend £4500 on that age of car because it doesn't seem good value to ME. But if OP wants that make/model and with parking sensors it doesn't seem over the going rate.

That one hasn't been serviced for 19,000 miles. Is that the correct interval?
Should be annually or every 10,000 miles. Whichever is sooner, of course.

Toyota aren't fans of long service intervals.

They're wheel trims. My wife has similar ones which go on with the steel winter wheels.

Ah well, very easy 'fix' to improve the look of the car straight away. The dealer should just put a new one on as part of the deal. If not haggle £30 off the price and buy a new set online.

7yo Yaris, <4,500 miles/year, badly scuffed wheeltrims. If ever there was stereotypical little-old-lady transport...

Going with that stereotype, it's quite probably being sold because a scare has meant she's given up driving or is going to an automatic (if it's manual). It's probably done most of those miles in short journeys from cold starts, so the engine wear will be higher than the mileage would suggest.

I'd be checking VERY carefully for paint match, especially around the bumpers and wings, and if it's a manual, I'd be making sure there was enough in the pot for a clutch change in the not-too-distant, after seven years of 5,000rpm clutch-slip parking.

It is a manual what sort of discount would make it good for you?

    Riight.

Frankly, I wouldn't be going near it.
